Hi everyone. There was a great response to last week's blues video, very glad to hear so many of you found it helpful. As always, I try and keep the content here as diverse as possible in terms of looking at as many different styles and artists as I can, but I will certainly try and do some more blues content soon.
But this week I wanted to look at a classic Replacements song. This one has been much requested, and wasn't an easy one to transcribe and get together, but it's great to get to the bottom of what's going on in this great song. It uses open A tuning and is full of melodic and intricate rhythm guitar work. If you're not familiar with the band do check out the whole Let It Be album. Paul Westerberg has long been one of my favourite songwriters - melodic and poetic but with a punk rock attitude.
Hope you enjoy the video. Tab is below. I've written out all the main parts. With something as loose and ragged as this, it's always a bit of a challenge for the transcriber. I've tried to make it accurate without getting too bogged down with every last detail. Hopefully it's a user friendly tab.
Speak next week,
Adrian
