Hi everyone. Underneath you can find the MM backing tracks. I've created a few different versions so you'll be able to practice in different ways: just bass and drums; a version with no Verlaine part; and a version with no Lloyd part. I've also done a full mix, which includes all the guitar parts.

And I'm also posting a slightly updated version of the tab. I've added a repeat marking which somebody noticed was missing, and tweaked a couple of other minor things.

That's it for this series. Thanks to everyone for watching and for the kind comments. I probably won't be doing anything quite like this again in the immediate future, but it has been nice to go deep on a song without worrying about the constraints of a typical YouTube video. So maybe this is something I could do once or twice a year. Any other songs you can think of that might merit this kind of treatment? Let me know.

Speak soon,

Adrian

I have to ask - are you familiar with "Idiot Box" off the 2nd Damned LP? A diss track about Television ("Tom Verlaine you may be art but you sure ain't rock and roll"), done as close to the style of Television as they could manage, it was a bit mean (!) but ended up IMO being the best thing they ever recorded.

At the risk of sounding greedy...How's about Neil Young 'Cortez the Killer'? Another mesmerizing & lengthy guitar song...

This was an amazing series. All your hard work and attention to detail is greatly appreciated. Spreading the song out over several videos was definitely the way to go. Nothing was given short shrift and nothing felt rushed. Can’t wait for the next one!

If you’re wondering whether to do another Television track or not, let me tell you, I see no evil in doing that.

According to Genius : "Appearing on The Damned’s second album, Music For Pleasure (1977), Captain Sensible wrote Idiot Box about New York Punk band, Television. The Damned were supposed to support them at a gig in the USA, but Television refused to let them. They then turned up to the gig wearing T-shirts saying “Television are Cunts”. Idiot Box is a mockery of Television and their members."
