That's right I'm returning once again to the subject of triads in this week's video and discussing a few ways I like to use them. Over the top of a simple 4 chord backing track, I explore some rhythm ideas as well as some soloing options. Everything is tabbed out below in the accompanying PDF, and there's a backing track to play along to.

As I say in the video, I've just completed a new triads course. The idea was to put together series of lessons for beginner and intermediate players containing everything you should - probably - know about triads. These kinds of courses allow me to dig into a subject in a more detailed and comprehensive way than I'm able to do in the YouTube videos. So those of you who'd like to understand and explore triads a bit more deeply might like to check it out: https://courses.anyonecanplayguitar.co.uk/p/triad-essentials

Never too much about triads. 🎸🎼

Jordan Zimmerman

The degree of excitement I get when I see you’ve released a new video 👌🏼

Matthew Gnabasik

Really like this lesson, Adrian. For me, the best part is using triads to add to traditional pentatonic and blues-based soloing techniques. Thanks for the lesson!!

Peter Healy

Thanks Adrian,I love Triads. Signed up for the course.

KG

Is the course similar to this lesson with some rythm and solo ideas aswell?

NB

Great lesson Adrian … will dive into your triads course and looking forward to the next one with some spread triads and jazzy extensions!!!

Rainer

The first few notes got me into it…this is exactly what I would like my lead playing to sound like. Thanks, Adrian!

Chris Hawkins

Very useful info…I enjoyed this video

anyonecanplayguitar

Thanks Rainer, hope this video gives you a few ideas to explore with your lead playing.

anyonecanplayguitar

Thanks NB. Yes, there's a natural follow up course looking at some more advanced concepts, I will try and get that together next year.

anyonecanplayguitar

Yes, it covers all of the things I discuss in this video in much more detail.

anyonecanplayguitar

Yes, that approach really works well. In real playing situations it's not a questions of choosing triads instead of blues and pentatonic approaches, it can all be mixed together with very nice results.

anyonecanplayguitar

Yes, true! I'm sure there will be more exciting triad-based content in the future too.

Thanks for this. I like what you say about the added color notes. I’ll be more conscious of that possibility. Please do another triad video about the superimposition idea. A video dedicated to the VII chord would and diminished stuff would be great too!

Mick Marston

Hi Adrian, did you mention a while ago that you were releasing a post punk guitar course or did I dream that? Will sign up for triad one anyway but was just wondering.

Martin Timmins

Great guitar therapy - getting lost in triads! Thank you :)

Epi

Great stuff thanks Adrian

Mart

Great lesson. Thanks Adrian

Adrian, I may just be dumb, but I can't figure out how to synch the mp3 file within the GP application. When I drag it in, it is always off. Is there any way that you could include the mp3 file imbedded within the GP file? I think there is a way to turn off the mp3 audio if anyone wants to work on the track w/o the background audio.
