Hello all,

I'm currently on my way back to London after a very nice break in France.

In this week's video - which I filmed a couple of weeks ago - I'm looking at a Talking Heads classic. This one is all about the groove. Slow it down and count out the rhythm carefully if you need to.

Here's a link to the video:

The usual PDF and Guitar Pro tabs can be found below.

Enjoy learning it. Speak next week,

Adrian

Always liked this riff and it's fun rythmn practice. Funk yeah!

Yes, I think the best way to work on rhythm is to find some fun, funky riffs like this one.

Lauren

YES. I recently did a David Byrne session with my student group. We didn't do this one, and it's one of my faves. Thanks, Adrian!

Stéphane Mineot

Great choice ! I learned to play electric guitar covering the entire Fear of Music album. I love the guitars in TH music.

Thanks Lauren, glad you liked this one! What other songs did you do in your David Byrne session?

Stéphane Mineot

Yes. Fear of Music opened me to funky rythm guitar. Cities was one of my favorite. On the other hand, Zimbra was unreachable for me, especially the Fripp lick at the end.

Lauren

We did (Nothing But) Flowers, Totally Nude, Burning Down the House, This Must Be The Place, I Zimbra, Road To Nowhere, and Once in a Lifetime. All so interesting to learn, and some were a nice challenge.

Yes, I Zimbra is incredible. Maybe I should give that a try myself. Not tried to play that Fripp lick but it sounds amazing!

Stéphane Mineot

Me to. I never tried again since. But I really love Fripp when he plays for other. I discovered recently League of gentlemen, his post punk project with Sara lee from Gang of four, Barry Andrew form XTC. You can here great music on this album.
