Here's the backing to accompany his week's video. It follows the arrangement of the original recording. Play it as written, but of course feel free to improvise some solos of your own. Have fun!

Spot on! The perfect antidote for the claustrophobic weeks to come....

Jorge Ouvina

A good one for practicing triads too.

Adrian, have you ever thought about doing a lesson on songwriting? I know that's different from your usual focus, and also I'm not sure if there would be a good way to do the topic justice in a 20-minute lesson, but just a thought. I actually was originally motivated to learn guitar partly by the idea that I might be able to write a song; I've managed to write a few scattered other things that seem to have moved people, so always thought I should see if I could put something to music. A relative who's had some success at songwriting thought that it was not a completely crazy idea. It's still an intimidating prospect, though.

Maybe put 'Jack the Ripper' on your Link Wray future list?

Sorry Chris, missed this comment when you first posted it. Yes, I do like the idea. Obviously a lot could be said on this subject, so it might be better suited to some kind of course. But I'm sure there's a useful shorter video to be made here. I think for some songwriters it's a very mysterious, instinctive process. But for others it's more of a craft with particular strategies and methods. Could certainly talk about some of the latter stuff.

It is a huge topic as you say. The craft might be more straightforward to talk about, but on the other hand something leaning toward your subjective experience might work well in a short format. Anyway, just a thought.
