Hello!

Hope everyone's doing OK. It's Nice Lick time once again, and today I have a short, stylish blues lick for you. This one gives you a great way to smoothly connect pairs of pentatonic patterns. Here's the link:

Tab is below.

This week I've also spent some time transcribing and preparing a few new song lessons, including some tracks which have been requested on here. Look out for those over the coming weeks. And I've finally got a new camera which I've been attempting to learn. I hope it's going to mean a bit of an improvement in production values. I'm also going to try sometimes running 2 cameras simultaneously for a better range of shots and angles.

Have a great week. Speak next Friday,

Adrian

Adrian, I am sure your new camera (and having 2) will be fun and improve production values; however, I think your content and production values are top notch. I ran across your Rainy Night in Georgia/Cornell Dupree video and that led me to being a Patron. Your stuff is awesome - and you have a unique and effective way of conveying the material. Really appreciate your work.

I thought the same thing--that it was hard to imagine value beyond what we're already getting. Still, two camera angles might be pretty nice! There's that every once in a while that I'm trying to see a little more closely what your strumming hand is doing.

Still getting so much out of your videos Adrian, this one, while being just a really nice riff, made me realize how much progress I've made since becoming a Patron. You have made my guitar journey both more productive and enjoyable, thank you!! Loved learning Snowblind too, those old rock and roll greats are like comfort food to play along with. Cheers!

That's good to hear Brian. Great you feel like you're making progress. Know what you mean about rock n roll comfort food - will try and do a bit more of that soon!

Thanks guys. Yes, my current video quality isn't too bad, but I'm always trying to raise my game a bit. A few of the guitar Youtubers I see have almost Hollywood movie-style production values which I'm sometimes a bit envious of. But I have to remind myself that, doing what I do, it has to be mainly about the content and the music rather than anything flashy visually. That said, I think a second camera angle for easy fretting or picking hand close ups will be nice.

Hm, that's interesting. I've seen some of the competition, but the circle that I watch has become pretty small now. I can't remember an instance where higher production values provided enough extra value to really stick in my mind. The only thing that comes to mind is that being able to see both hands separately can sometimes be useful. I'll take good music, someone who knows how to communicate, and an enjoyable personality over anything else. Of course any little improvements are appreciated!
