If you like this, you might also like ORPHAN 2009 and ORPHAN First Kill 2022. It's a horror movie but not really scary, but I think a lot of fun. MIDSOMMAR 2019 is also another horror movie in which wild shit is happening, but not that scary, maybe more traumatizing than scary.

This movie works on so many levels. Obviously Bear is both the protagonist and the enemy, being that he's a cowardly selfish loser. But it also works if you've ever had a stalker woman (or man) pursuing you, or if someone suddenly changes their personality while dating them. It's a terrifying feeling that makes you go cold deep in the pit of your guts and this movie brings back those memories.

This movie is a Master Class of Acting, try to imagine Nicolas Cage as Bear, and Amber Heard as Nikki. Completely Ridiculous.... Hollywood's five hundred million dollar slop, with their A list actors, is embarrassing compared to this.

Hello Angels Well that's a surprise!! Like other I expected aquaman yesterday. And clearly not "obsesions" today !! but OK ! OH boy, most of the time, I'm not an horor movie guy. and when I do (mostly with you), I'm not that unsettled (mostly because you made me laugh!!😂). I mean, we are afraid a little, it's gross a little, but once it's over, it's over . Just a few really bothered me ( in fact just 'the fly" with the munchies ....If you do it one day, you'll understand why easily. But, I didn't saw them all either) . But this one, THIS movie, THIS OBSESSION !! 🤯😰😨. This is the horror movie who made the most uncomfortable ever !!! I discovered it with the munchies (Chi, Katie and Ivy). in normal time, it made the movie very easy to watch (it made the pression less heavy). Not this one!! not at all !! He's that good in the horrors! Even I know what's coming, I know i'm gonna be very ...not well at all! So if me, I'm "headphone user, you're warned" my ears will hate me! 😂 I'm like Tiên. I better be with you or others to see horror movie! better laugh and have "comfort" than destroying myself alone ! 😂 Let's go! For the movie Poor blanket...It gonna end as a big tissue! 😅 And with this pratice scene, we already have the formula of all the movie. we took a normal scene of everyday's life and we put something strange and unsettling in it. Here, a guy asking a girl out, normal things. but the girl is a waitress helping and it become strange and awkward. and the more the movie go, the more we use this formula but with way more strange , more unsettling, until we are scared that anything may happen in any time! and of course, the music and sound (even the silence) is doing a lot in it too! But in the begining, the friend is not a good one if you ask me. But Sarah=bestgirl ! She should have been bear's girlfriend. she was more healthy for him than Nikky (even before the wish). she clearly don't deserve her fate! One of the thing that make me bad each time, it's the cat...Sound stupid. but I have cats around me all my life. so...Each time they use the cat, I'm always "NONONONONO!!!". "coward" to be honest, yes...but I think it might be not that unusual either. fear of rejection and faillure is strong. but at this point, yeah, coward is the right word. even more as the movie goes. "like 2 personality fighting". As I understand it, the spell is not strong enough to hold her normal personnality yet. "does it work? yes! no! Yes! No" the most accurate internet search ever! (even more on a discusion-servor) 😂 "She's still looking!" Again, normal everyday's life scene with a small details that make it unsettling!! Can we agree that their "sexe scene" feel more like a rape than a love one.... OK the door bieng taped that much and the "stay!!!" on the bed is actually a little funny! But the scene with peeing on herself and after when he come back and she has and peed and shit herself... NONONONO! and the cat being used for his dinner !!! even more NONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!!! (worst part for me! so even more funny that was joking about it....she was right!!!! Fairy tales for kids? I think Tiên don't know a lot of original fairy tales's story. most of them are pretty messed up and we wonder how the hell we manage to made them for kids! Oh, I didn't understand about Nikky and ian's relationship last time! oh shit... No wonder Ian seem so much like a bad friend! Yes, it was sarah's body strip naked on the chair... For the conclusion First, can we applause the performance of the actors !! mostly Inde Navarrette!! (AKA Nikki) I agree. the ending was easy to see coming but It's so well done. it's not even a problem! What I like: the supernatural is not even the real problem! yes, it's the supernatural who create it. but the real fear doens't come from a ghost or a deamon. it's more how real her action are. When I said real, i refer to what Lan was speaking. It's the same behaviour as any toxic relationship ! the supernatural made her become obsessed. But it's her toxic and unsettling behaviour who bring fear! For what I heard, this constant fear or your partner is a big symptoms of any toxic relationship! the supernatural is just a background thing. to us understand why she's behaving like that. it's not the main menace like a Dracula, Chucky, a super-predator form space or any other big horror movie icons. And I almost forget the little humour here and there! even had a laugh sometimes! a funny face, this damn taped-door !!!😂 Nikki pulling Sarah's chair and so on. sometimes, it's really funny! but the all situation made it scary. To quote a french speaing youtuber specialised in horror (I kinda already did): the genius of it is to take situation, if you say it, it's not scary. but to add a little something (a smile for example) to make a normal situation scary! But yes, CLEARLY, Bear is the real problem. Tiên seemed to have the same mindset I had first time: He's a little coward who played with something he shouldn't and it blow in his face! but the more we look, he could have tried to stop it way earlier! because he's an egotistic coward. Nikki and Sarah are victims! Ian...too, but hearing better his backstory and how he behave...I don't have much pity for him. Well, Lan ! Don't expect for Tiên to share money !! 😅😂😂 And I really hope you get better Lan... But, I laughed a little hearing you saying you were the toxic one too! (because I imagined you acting like Nikki! 😅). I shouldn't have. sorry. I just had the image in the head. For me, this horror movie deserved to be a classic! Thanks for sharing it . Obsession is one of the few films that truly lives up to the hype. You ladies are right, Bear really is the villain of the story. There are actually some people online who try to defend him a bit, arguing that he didn't take advantage of the situation right away at the start. But I say that’s completely irrelevant; Bear was a bad guy from the very beginning, hiding behind a "shy guy" facade. In the scene before he meets Sarah, where the real Nikki asks him to kill her, you can see his true colors. The way he stands there with that sulky look on his face, asking, "What’s so bad about being with me?" really shows he doesn't care about the real Nikki; it’s as if he just wanted a "Nikki sex robot". That kind of behavior doesn't develop in just a few weeks. It was always in him; he just never had the chance to act on it. I wonder if there are special rules for the One Wish Willow, like with the Genie in Aladdin. You know, the three rules: 1. You can't wish for more wishes; 2. You can't wish for the dead to be brought back to life; and 3. You can't wish for someone to fall in love with you. Well, as we see in Obsession, playing with other people's feelings really doesn't end well. It would be a fascinating coincidence if, in Obsession 2 (which is sure to happen😅), the protagonist actually wished for a lost loved one to be brought back to life, and then things went wrong Pet Sematary style. I think the best wish Bear could have made, had he actually had good intentions, would have been to gain the self-confidence to confess his feelings to Nikki. But as I said, I don't think he ever had good intentions. One thought that keeps crossing my mind, especially during the scene where Bear calls the One Wish Willow customer hotline and the guy on the phone asks if he wants to cancel the wish, is that if Bear had said "yes" without hesitation at that moment, he could have actually cancelled it. But Bear immediately answered "no" and blew his chance. At least, it strikes me that the intention behind the answer to that question is what matters. There’s a small, creepy detail in the scene shortly before the end, when Bear comes home, that many people seem to overlook the first time around (though the scene is admittedly quite chaotic): Nikki has drawn on Sarah’s tattoos, put on Sarah’s dress, and is even wearing Sarah’s hair to please Bear more. I’d like to suggest It Follows (2014) for a reaction. It’s a pretty good horror movie that, much like Obsession, I think really resonates with a female audience. As always, that was a great reaction, Angels!💜

Bloody hell! I need to watch a comedy after this one to recover. Great movie and acting. I'm so glad I forgot to watch it in the cinema. This was waaaaayy better with you Angels. Amazing reaction as always. Obsession was released in May 2026 by the way 🙂

Inde Navarrette who played "Nikki", did an amazing job. This is her breakout role. She's going to be part of the MCU. She's going to be in the X-MEN reboot for Disney. You two should try out the original X-MEN franchise one day.
