The show loves a twist. The constant suspicious nature of a robot since the start this season was planned perfectly here so you would not suspect Radcliffe. He is the one corrupted by the darkhold. The Aida fitz built worked perfectly and did it's job. Now this updated Aida is corrupted by proxy. Her programming is created by a corrupt genius mind. She is doing bad because her creator is doing bad not because she wants to be bad.

If we get to robots becoming sentient beings, I hope for all of us that the Chinese beat the US in that race, I fear for the world if the US government get to create a new being in their image, they'll train them to do what the US do best, war and destruction, no thank you, we are already seeing what israel (which is really the 51 state of the united states of america) is doing with AI, using it to mechanize death, to be able to kill Palestinians easier from a far so their cowardly soldiers don't suffer the ptsd, using google's image recognition system, so much for Google's "do no harm" bullshit, while China uses robotics in building, they're more interested in developing field specific AI/robots to excel at a specific task not general AI and not heavily hyperfocus on military application although they might have to with the US's bloodlust for WW3 and to destroy China, I think the Chinese approach is much more productive for humanity, we don't need general AI, we need specific robots in factories to build electric cars, to build more solar panels, we need robotics that doctors can use to do surgery better, maybe robots that can help in the service sector and mining, most labor intensive taxing tasks but we don't need general AI to spread misinformation or control what info we get even more by the government, we don't need AI making decisions in war, if we are gonna save the planet and survive I hope to god China and all of us survives the US's war profiting madness

Slingshot’s just an extra thing that was put out after 4x08 because the show was on a long break at the time. It provides a bit of context for some things (how Daisy and Yo-Yo first got in contact) but doesn’t play a role in any of the actual plot. So don’t worry about feeling like you missed a connection somewhere, it’s a stand-alone miniseries. Only reason it couldn’t be watched till after episode 8 is because it shows that Daisy rejoins the team. This episode also shows why unfortunately plot-wise it’d have been difficult to keep Robbie around. Aida’s super strength wouldn’t do anything to him the way it did to everyone else, so presumably they wouldn’t have gotten in the locked base situation to begin with, or at least he’d be able to burn the locks open or something. Ghost Rider’s pretty OP when it comes to “regular” enemies, so they had to take him out of play :( (Well, on top of the fact that the special effects were too expensive to keep him around lol)

Mac makes a bunch of references to robot horror/sci-fi movies (mostly from the 80s) and TV shows in this one.

There are more. The best (in my opinion but not mentioned here) is 1970s "Colossus: The Forbin Project". It's the best evil-computer-taking-over-the-world movie ever made and is the inspiration for SkyNet in Terminator.

Aida didn't feel regret. That was the speech Radcliffe gave her.
