A story told in three parts! Bill Maher appeared on Pod Save America, where he was KILLED by Jon Lovett, who was wielding the twin blades of FACTS and LOGIC. Bearing witness to this with me is Ella Dawson, who in the end is forced to wonder (by me) whether this was even worth it/necessary/WHATEVER. Also, I coin what is SURE to be the newest phrase that will immediately sweep the internet: "Pressing the buttons on the jukebox". It refers to someone not knowing what to do in an awkward moment. Look for it on t-shirts across the country very soon, I'm sure!

Kudos To You

oh perfect timing! Just got off work and have been excited to hear this one.

The leads of The Americans 69 because they're Communists

Judy

You were both excellent, Bill was garbage, and Jon was weirdly okay.

I remember it being quite a big deal when it launched

Maher bizarrely insisting "69" is not even possible. A deadpan bit to rival Mr Show's "24 is the highest number"? Nope, he's humorless. Random thought how the screenwriter of History of Violence, a true-blue Maher hater (enough to take a couple digs at podcast guest Charles Band for trying to make Maher out to be a Harrison Ford-caliber movie discovery in Cannibal Women...) included a 69 in his movie

I think we can definitively say that Pod damned America

Cclear: watch He Walked by Night (1948)

What's most annoying is Tlaib is called the "representative from Palestine" but Jesus almost every other congressperson is bought & paid for by the Israel Lobby & acts like they're representing Israel more than the US. What the hell is he talking about? Shitlib Zionist Jon didn't push back. Also from the river to the sea means equal rights in the one state that already exists. With almost a million settlers in the West Bank to still promote a fake two state solution is the extreme position. Why is equal rights "far left" and silly?

Look how hostile he is towards left wingers while he’s so warm and welcoming towards the likes of Kid Rock and Ted Cruz. Says it all.

My partner was walking by toward the end when Ella was making a point that no one outside Will (and by extension the "sickos" that listen to this podcast) are this familiar with Bill Maher. He said "aw babe you got a shout out." Anyway thanks for shouting us out Ella! Pleasure just to be considered.

My bold take is that understanding and defending trans people is more mainstream than having a list of reasons you will and won't yell at your personal chef

Involuntarily guffawed hearing him say israelis are “the Indians” in Palestine. NEW RULE: if you call religion a neurological disorder, you can’t base your political beliefs on a biblical interpretation that says god promised a piece of land to some people 3000 years ago
