The applause is so bad and it was driving me nuts that it's obviously the same guy every time loudly seal clapping to get it started

David Lesser

The dude breaking his wrists clapping may be eligible for compensation

Stackies on Stackies on Stackies

Whenever I picture the audience, it’s just the audience of hysterical cowboys from Lili Von Shtupp’s musical number, except they’re all upwards of sixty.

Caron’s such a great guest! They really get what we love about this podcast

Need a Clapping Guy supercut

Aaron

Seems like there’s more content when you said there was going to be less, anyway congratulations on the baby

Also perfume allergies are a thing! One of my high school principals had to go to the hospital after some of the boys had an axe fight in the hallway

Kudos To You

He wasn't the class clown, he was more the class GIT.

Bill very much sounded like he wanted to defend Jeffrey Epstein. I was a bit surprised he called out Megyn Kelly instead of saying she was right about the distinctions she was making. Also: Reactionary centrist NYT putting out reactionary centrist opinion pieces declaring that Dems need to be centrist is not the bombshell Bill thinks it is. And of course, he doesn't engage with any of Mamdani's policy proposals. He just sticks with how scary the word "socialism" is to him.

Mirkatte

I love that she reminded Will to do the "New Rules" theme music.

Mirkatte

I kept thinking, "DON'T CLAP!!!"

Second your point on the perfume allergies! I mean, I'm not surprised BM doesn't get it, he probably hasn't had a migraine triggered by someone's perfume, and explaining basics about how our nervous system responds to external stimuli would be entirely futile

Salex

And because he's such a hypocrite, I could equally imagine him saying something like, "I hate it when women wear too much perfume, it's such a turn off. It's like man-repellant".

Salex

The AUDACITY of Bill Maher to be like, these people are old and they need to move on from elected office 😂. He's not wrong, the gerontocracy is cooked, but dude needs to get the fuck outta there for very similar reasons. Just retire, I dream of retiring, and I never will get to retire so f you buddy!

Salex

He's older than the Suez Crisis and the Snooz alarm clock (thanks wikipedia!). What a jackass

So I've gone to the Jimmy Kimmel show a few times. They really emphasize how important it is that you clap when the "applause" sign lights up. It was surreal being there in person when we were clapping maniacally and Kimmel was like "oh please that's enough you're too kind" as if it was our idea to clap like that. At Real Time, they probably have the sign on and harass them to clap even more

Californians cannot handle when it rains. It seems like they either drive comedically slow or even faster than they would drive if it wasn't raining.

I use the Costco metamucil and I haven't been happier. Let's just say it works and the results are absolutely disgusting to talk about, but it works. It is my number one supplement for making number twos. Who says you can't have quality and quantity? Take it from me. Fiber is not just for senior citizens and gen z! In all seriousness, it really does help the digestive system and can help lower cholesterol. If you're an unhealthy piece of s*** like me, this can provide a lot of fiber that 7-Eleven hot dogs will not.

I'm not a member of DSA, but I appreciate the no clapping and no aggressive scents rules at that convention. Also COVID safety measures make the space accessible for everyone. I get horrendous migraines and I've become very sensitive to odors, sounds and lights. It would be great if I was in a setting like that when I had one, and it was chill and didn't make me feel worse. Also perfumes can be really obnoxious and give people headaches in an enclosed space. It's just common courtesy.

Bill Maher strikes me as the kind of guy who hates Epstein because he was too insufferable to get invited on the plane.
