So when I found this pod, I was still a pretty big Bill Maher fan although found him creepy and annoying at times. I now loathe him. I used to really enjoy him in Trump 1 savaging Trump every week but he has got so soft on Trump now. I think soon, HBO will axe the show and Bill will go full MAGA and get a show on Fox. If you listen to the first monologue after Trump got elected, Bill really sounded actually scared like Trump was going to lock up/take out anti Trump comics.

fun fact about the 28 days later series. the music you hear in 28 days later when the guy is alone in the city (East Hastings) is also featured at the end of 28 years later. And! east hastings is from F#A# infinity by godspeed you! black emperor, which is cited by the director as a major inspiration for the films. gy!be is also a very firmly anti-capitalist group and their most recent release (NO TITLE…) is a fucking incredible and devastating album about Palestinian resistance ^^

I enjoyed the episode. It seems the common thread in American political culture is support for American empire. There are just different strategies on how to best achieve domination over the world. The murderous regime (wrongly) killing people in the street is in the US and Israel, not Iran. The US left has one job right now: to prevent war. Iran's internal contradictions are theirs to settle democratically, not through violent CIA and Mossad backed mobs. This is an operation to overthrow another government because unlike almost any other country, Iran supports the Palestinian people. Even if one hates the Iranian government, whoever comes into power after a US regime change operation, like in Libya and Syria, end up being worse. If people thought Jan. 6 was wrong, this is on a bigger scale. Not every protest is good or worth supporting or representative of the country's opinions. The marches for the government against the rioters were huge and much bigger.
