Josh Boerman returns to talk about three episodes of Politically Incorrect that we are coming into mostly blind. What horrors await us? Well, two of them actually match up pretty well with each other, and the third has a premise that is truly and unspeakably horrible.

The writer I was trying to remember was Shane Bauer, and his article about working as a prison guard was in Mother Jones

I am a media buyer. The reason there aren't local ads on Hulu is because it's too expensive for local businesses to buy air time on Hulu, much easier to just buy YouTube ads, which are 1/3rd of the price.

In Hawaiʻi, I’d guess like 90% of our commercials are local, even including the ones for national brands, and they’re ALWAYS filled with Hawai’i imagery and inside jokes—oftentimes spoken in pidgin. It’s so incredibly charming that this still exists in 2026.

My brother lives in Minneapolis, and speaking of local ads, there is this super famous billboard of a man with his arms stretched in front of a red background. This billboard is so famous locally that everyone parodies it. Local ads really do anchor communities

I spent four months in that tent camp in '04. Can confirm they fed chicken labeled "not fit for human consumption". That place sucks.

The woman actor you mentioned from the sitcom "It's Like, You Know" was Jennifer Grey, whose best known credit before this is the movie "Dirty Dancing" and calling that simply a "best known credit" is seriously underplaying how big that movie was, and is. But you're right: The sitcom was shit.

Cclear: watch He Walked by Night (1948)

OK unless there was another jail episode, I totally remember watching this when it was on. I remember the prisoners in the audience in the striped uniforms. Wow. I forgot that it was about Arpaio, and he was on too. At the time I thought it was amazing to actually talk to prisoners and visit them like this. I still think it was a good idea if it were done properly and even though it wasn't, there was some good from it.

I actually paused to watch the pilot of “It’s like ya know” and it’s a generic 90s comedy
