He can easily mass build these with the trip hammer and is more late tech than chain mail?
With gambeson underneath? He can still use chain mail sparingly on the weak points.
they still don’t have enough steel to build anything in bulk, especially things which need a lot of steel. And the blacklsmith is already swamped with work. But it would surely be a step in the future.
Chain mail or even just a coat of iron plates can be made with regular iron. However the village has been focused on infrastructure projects and offensive armament which has a greater force multiplier than equipping each guard with metal armor. Metal armor is a great force multiplier, but to equip each of the 100 or so guards with metal armor would take approximately 30lbs of metal each minimum before losses in the smithing process is taken into account. That would require about 2 tons of iron bars dedicated to making armor. I don’t think they’ve accumulated that much iron yet as they don’t have a regular domestic source.
Does anyone know if the prospectors that kuzanalis mentioned that the village were looking for were ever mentioned again? It would be a huge boon the village if somewhere in those mountains nearby there was a deposit of tin and or copper available for exploitation? Not to mention any other metal that isn’t iron. I know the Tolossi hills are the singular iron mine in the region which are heavily contested, and any other iron deposit would be of interest to the kingdom, but does the kingdom care about other metals such as tin or copper as much as they do for iron?
Maybe Tiranat is sitting on a huge vein of lead and they do t know about it?
Maybe the baron could bring the wonders of indoor plumbing using water pipes easily made from lead? If only for the sewage water of course. Lead psychosis probably wouldn’t do the village any favors in the long term, but it would be interesting to see if the baron is willing to sacrifice the health of his subjects at least a little with his desire to develop the industry of Tiranat.
Of course now that they have a lathe they could make water pipes from federrus wood which can carry the potable water from the reservoir upstream down to the village.
i mean lead is the easie way to do plumbing

The current FLTL schedule is four chapters every week for Kings. On Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat. It still means gap days on Tuesday and Thursday for now.
but by the end of this month, Kings will move on to five FLTL chapters every week, and then it will be one chapter every day for the weekdays (Mon to Fri).
