Oh, they would absolutely get along. Summer is always looking for a new playmate!

I’m kinda inconsistent with the anatomy of my fuzzbutt folk, with their bodies leaning more humanoid or animalistic depending on what I want the drawing to accomplish (*coughcough* Biscuit’s fanservicey mombod *cough*). But the (un)official rule is, FB critters have bodies that look more like an irl animal forced to stand on two legs than an outright human body. Their legs are shorter than a human’s, they have longer, thicker necks, and their spines are much more flexible. Most FB animals can comfortably transition from bipedal to quadrupedal movement. They run faster on on all fours, though it’s seen as highly undignified and childish, since it means you have to dirty your hands walking along the ground. Dogs have the least social hang-ups about breaking into a quad run, and will frequently bolt after anything small and fast that catches their eye.

The sport of fetch is universal among pursuit predators, especially canines. Regular fetch involves either a friend throwing a ball or taking a visit to a ball-launching device (think irl batting cages). Fetch, as well as Tag, Tug-of-war, and Herding (involving players corralling a group of unpredictable moving objects-sometimes beach balls, sometimes actual herd animals) are all commonly played among dogs young and old, even being professional sporting events broadcast on television to millions of dedicated fans worldwide.

the concept of an official herding sport is really cute actually because you could have, like. different teams of both canines and herd animals… the sheep AND the dogs have been training for it…

omg this is so cute. i love it. i love the idea of the fb cast being able to switch from bipedal to four legs. i'm imaging sunny and skye breaking into a full fourlegged run to play with each other--damn the people that say it's uncouth!

lopoddity

Sunny and Skye absolutely chase each other like that. :3 Dogs in FB can also bark! Sunny pretty much never does, but Skye has a stupid yappy waffwuffwuffWORF that she busts out when angry or reeeeaally excited

PrincessMuffinArt

So they can go anthro and feral at will? Or is it just they can go on all fours for extra speed if they wanted to? I do like the idea of them having professional sports that reference Fetch though! That’s cute!

lopoddity

They can just switch to four legs for a bit of speed. All characters in FB are fully sapient, they can't turn their brain off and go feral anymore than a human can

doggydogdog

That's wonderful! that makes my heart sing! is sunny self-conscious about his bark? or is it a personal preference?

pookaWOODS

GAHD, I LOVE THIS. I looooooove Summer. I think she's my new favorite too (or at the very least, tied with Snowball).

Brook

Aaa best lore 🥰🥰

I love that both are having their toungs out panting for the extra oxygen level in their blood. They look so happy and that detail makes it obvious for me as a dog owner that they both give it their best in that happy moment. Jude’s mane mid run is soo beautiful. That wolfgirl got flooof!

Gale

i LOVE their dynamic omg

Sunny (and Jude and Cass) was raised in a large upperclass home by Biscuit, who while initially enamored by her puppy's adorable little yips and yowls, eventually (like many parents) found them annoying enough to want to rip her ears off. So Sunny was trained not to bark, it's just not a thing done in polite society. Skye however was brought up on a farm with parents that were controlling in some areas but incredibly lax in others (eg. one of Skye's favorite childhood activities was being rolled down a hill in a tractor tire by her dad- she broke her arm once doing this). Barking and howling was actually a necessity on the farm for long range communication and coordination of labor among the pups. Skye's family have a "dinnertime" bark, a "danger/ trespasser on property" alert bark, a "where are you/I'm here" call and response howl, and many other vocalizations that communicate over a farther range than shouting would. The family can also recognize each member by the sound of their bark.

I for one am very happy with your anatomy flexibility. It’s the best of both worlds when you can get adorable dog-people frolicking wholesomely, AND awesome fanservy mombods for which I am a fan you def service Sorry for not unloading my love on the new Berry sib designs (in short, I love them!). I can now absolutely see Shadow easily looking like a hardcore, down’n’ruff cowdog OR the bisexual crop-trop wearing party girl slut(affectionate) of your dreams at the drop of a hat. (Django never knows which one he’s gonna get when he comes sniffing around but it’s always fun to find out) And awww yeah I love me some Summer!!!

doggydogdog

Ah, all of that is so interesting. I wanna eat all of this lore. Thank you!

Non-Euclidean Cat

Imagine what Wimbledon must be like if there are canines in the audience, or any sporting event involving a ball. :)

SmilesPerHour

I can promise you’d have a *very* captive audience.
