mmmm shut up mona

Working on a batch of sketches focused Mona. She has a soft, low-pitched voice with a very prominent accent, as she was born in London and lived there until Teddy was about 12. I like to imagine she and Lulu butt heads sometimes over the “correct” names for things, eg. crisps vs chips, biscuits vs cookies, universal healthcare vs literal dystopian nightmare, etc

The "westpoolchestershire" took me OUT they always have the most syllables in their towns and provinces 💀 Also I'm very excited for Mona development 👀👀👀

I don’t know why but she really does give Southerner vibes, especially eating plain Lays. Living down in London for a few years, i can confidently say that somehow she looks like half the female population there

My little pony already gave us the ultimate Bri’ish animal-ified location name….Trottingham. I can’t top that, lol

Mona: "Oh blimey luv! Whas' in this here scrambled eggs? A bit spicy innit?..... Lulu: Pepper..... just pepper

Angsty Ram

Oh! Forgot to ask as well. Is Mona a specific breed of goat?

lopoddity

She's a myotonic (fainting) goat. Mona keels over when she's startled or badly stressed, which sucks cuz she also has a chronic anxiety disorder

Mona tries Lulu’s famous jambalaya once and instantly explodes

Angsty Ram

Oh this poor woman… relatable

HAH, my partner is British and we are constantly teasing each other over the "correct" way to say and spell things too. I love all these explorations of Tibbs and his family. I know things probably aren't "all better" because scars like that from childhood tend to never fully heal, but I'm glad that Tibbs at least seems to have a good relationship with his mom and stepfamily now. Does Fuzzbutts directly mirror earth's continents and countries, or are landmasses differently shaped and there are simply parallels to real world places and cultures? (I'm guessing it's the former since you've mentioned real languages/states/countries, but I'm curious regardless because this worldbuilding is really neat.)

Ok, but this reminds me of when I was little and I was learning English with some special books with cassettes that my dad bought me (I was always one of those girls who, instead of asking for dolls, I asked for books, comics, things from art, etc. I liked "girls' toys" but those other things were my favorite). I got confused when I tried to translate songs into English, or watch movies/shows because I didn't understand the slangs and culture. I thought "ok fancy cookie is biscuit and the regular brand ones are cookies" "wait chips? potato chips? is it different? why? I thought chip was like battery" "why can women call each other girlfriends? I thought girlfriends was romantic? but then why don't men call each other boyfriends among a group of friends?" "Gay is homosexual? But I thought it meant happy" "why is pussy a dirty word? I thought it means cat!" 🤣 I was so confuse. And also the curious thing is that a comedian once talk about how in this country holiday is basically free days but in USA use the word vacations cuz holiday means day of celebration, and that napkin in his country is basically the world for dipper for babies, they use the word servillet instead, it's funny because in the spanish of my country we call the paper to clean your mouth "servilleta". It's so interesting to think that the same words could mean so many different things according to the country, and believe me you don't want to enter the Latinoamerica war about the correct name of certain stuff, the use of some verbs can be very tricky and gosh the slang, each country should have their own dictionary specially in curse words 😅 example: palta o aguacate (both means avocado) Jesus Santo the eternal war of what words is the right one, oh and the various way of making tamales, pasteles, humitas, etc we are think our way is the right way 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ah British. Just remember Lulu, an elevator is called a lift. A mile is called a kilometer. And botulism is called steak and kidney pie

Teenage Teddy, having had to switch from imperial to metric: wot the fuck

Paprika would destroy her sanity, it is the weakness of the English people

love this british goat also unrelated (idk where else to say it) but. man i love how fleshed out your characters and their connections are, i just saw a video essay that said that the best worldbuilding is that which fleshes out all of its characters as people with their own lives and connections and. i really feel that in fuzzbutts. i can play that 7 links “i know a guy who knows a guy…” game with all of your characters, drawing a line from lulu to logan, from perry to priscilla, jude to gio - your characters all interact in a vast, interconnected web and i want to chart it all out except i think id need a 3d model so the threads dont become a knotted mess. i love this world you’ve built and i want to see absolutely all of it. keep up the amazing work <3

Aggghsvsh thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️ What a lovely comment, you're honestly tempting me to try to actually make a character relationship map, haha

I really love Mona so much. She seems like such a kind and thoughtful person who has everyone's best interests at heart. I can't wait to see more of her!
