idk why it’s only just now it’s occurring to me that Jude and Honey would’ve been neighbors growing up, and therefore….probably friends? 

quickie doodle before bed. Honey’s never heard such a howl before! Her mommy won’t let her howl, she says it’s not lady-like….but this is a little girl just like her, with the deepest, sickest, most booming howl Honey’s ever heard! Is this what wolves are capable of?? So cool!!! >:O

Jude looks so fucking cute here! I can’t help but feel Jude was likely Honey’s first crush, and a wedge was driven between them because Honey wasn’t ready to accept that part of herself or even after when she’s still stuck in her “I’m gay but I’m not one of those gays pls pick me” phase. I can see her growing resentful once Jude leaves and finds her own happiness. And then later Honey meets Skye and Summer, and then Victoria. I hope Honey finally finds her own happiness and acceptance. Like Honey you have so many pretty girls but you don’t deserve them until you can be better and move past your own self hatred and religious dogma. Honey you are so close baby I believe in you!!!

It's indeed a uniform! :3 Though more of a posh all-girls prepatory private school than an outright religious institution. More like a mashup of regular school, ettiquette classes, and girl scouts.

Honey's parents thought it was very kind and charitable, in theory, for the Fletchers to adopt a wolf cub (and later, a seal pup). In actuality, they saw Jude as a mini-monster, a little beast prone to tracking muddy pawprints into homes and wrestling too rough with the neighborhood kids. Jude was a rough&tumble kid, but ultimately very sweet, and friends with Honey- so the Meadowsweets resigned themselves to treating her with a stiff, resigned, uncomfortable sort of politeness. Strained smiles and all that, none of the natural warmth and familiarity they would've given had Jude been a regular puppy. The same applies to Cass. When Jude (and later Cass) come out as queer though, the phony niceness the Meadowsweets exude towards them becomes even more forced, taking on a shap edge of disapproval and even (privately) disgust. Merry finds Cass entirely inscrutable, and thinks Jude is a beastly depraved homosexual who might’ve aided in corrupting his daughter. For most of Sunny's youth Merry found him to be a directionless imbecile, but was pretty pleased when Sunny grew up and became a police officer. He happily tells Sunny he's proud of him and gives his approval for Sunny to court his daughter. Sunny meanwhile is busy staring at a butterfly
