Hey Artnerds!

Happy belated Father's Day! What have yall been up to this week?

Little Artist Series Doodles

Mapmaker

I wanted to do SOMETHING for Father's Day, even though I didn't have time this year to fully complete an illustration and create a tutorial or review around it. I figured Kara and her dad Rowan were perfect for this- they both enjoy drawing although their reasons diverge, and maybe it was her dad who helped map out the area in the first place.

Mulling Paint

Pretty much every entry in this little series is fairly rough- but that's the point! These are all little in-between doodles done on my cheap little Android tablet using Krita. I plan on penciling and inking them eventually, resulting in a cleaner finished illustration, but I enjoy sharing this digital sketchbook with you guys!

Finishing Up The Secret Project

It is done! It is scanned! It is color corrected (tentatively, I'm still kinda noodling on that part). It is packed up to be mailed out! I still can't share it yet, but I'm excited for when I can, because it turned out GREAT.

The Only Soda with a PhD

I carved out a little time to paint an idea that started out as an in-joke. Awhile back, I ran a poll on Youtube to see how many folks identify as neurodivergent (ASD, ADHD, etc) AND happen to like Dr Pepper! Although many of yall are neurodiv and love a variety of sodas, more than half of you are like me, and love Dr P! I created a Kara and Dr Pepper illustration to celebrate our shared love for this tasty caffeinated beverage. Inspired by vintage Dr Pepper ads, candy stripers (yanno, DR pepper), and crazy straws, I think this watercolor illustration turned out so cute! This isn't part of the Louisiana food series (Dr Pepper was invented in Texas!), but it does tempt me to consider a Southern food series at some point since I've also lived in Georgia and Tennessee. Can you imagine Kara and Nashville Hot Chicken?!

Backer Exclusive & Early Access:

Lately videos have been shared to early access a day or two before it goes live, since I'm working on a backlog of time sensitive videos. These are still shared early access, but since they're all public now, I don't see the point in sharing them both in the Early Access section and the New To the Public section.
