It's a shame I really liked this marker, because it's kinda pricy and hard to find in the US!  Ah well, if you see it out for sale in the wild, lemme know where and for how much!

PS!  This is an early access video!

Japanese alcohol based ink 389 total colors Refillabe ink available Twin tipped- brush and chisel Nibs are replacable Available in Sketchmarker (bullet and chisel) and Sketchmarker Brush Pro Made in Slovenia (this info was on the package, otherwise seems to be a bit difficult to come by) Sketchmarkers Website: https://sketchmarkers.club/en The Packaging: Wallet came wrapped in a plastic bag, and has paper belly band 12 piece set Colors in set: Y44- Cream 025- Rose Champagne 044- Mango G163- Pale Turquoise BR42- Umber B64- Steel Blue B54- Periwinle BG54- Marble BG93- Gray Tint R34- Ice Pearl R53- English Rose R115- Daisy The wallet- Made of nylon with Sketchmarker screened on the front. Zippered pouch on the back could hold pencils, a couple erasers, maybe replacement nibs. Inside was a LOT of stuff Markers are held in by a single elastic loop The Markers: Round body marker, fairly slim profile- similar to the Copic ciao Bodyscreening reads Sketchmarker Brush, and designates the chisel and brush ends. Chisel is further designated by a gray collar, unusual as it's usually the brush end that receives that designation. Markers themselves feel a bit light. Uncapping is a little bit difficult, as the body of the marker is glossy, and the only thing to prevent rolling are notches on both caps. Color name is on the barcode sticker on the body, as well as on the cap, and also includes the color family. Compared to Other Alcohol Markers: Sketchmarker Brush Graph'it Brush Ohuhu Brush Deleter Neopiko Color Kurecolor Blick Studio Brush Primsacolor Brush Copic Sketch Copic Ciao Let's compare the most alike Sketchmarker Brush Blick Studio Copic Sketch Copic Ciao All refillable, replacable nibs, foam rubber brushes, chisel nibs Brushes all seem pretty comprable- same size, all seem to be foam rubber Chisel on the Sketchmarker Brush is larger than the rest but otherwise pretty similar Swatching: Swatching in my Strathmore Mixed Media sketchbook. Starting with the Morning Set First Swatch fine, maybe a slight amount of bleeding? Difficult to tell with such light colors. So far, color chips seem fairly accurate Blending (Rainbow, using Morning Set) Ok, these brushes are nice. Comparable to maybe a slightly more rubbery Copic Even without trying too hard (blending some weird colors into each other) these blend pretty nicely. Reactivity Test: Solvents: Rubbing Alcohol Copic Ohuhu Artist Loft Blick All of them make the Opera Rose go neon for a moment (pretty common with fluro adjacent colors), and then dry back down. Some cause the Sketchmarkers to react unusually- Ohuhu, Artist Loft, and Blick Studio all have vastly different effects. Ball Shading Test: These are really blending reactive, and overblending is quite possible (and I mean this in a good way, some of us use this technique for watercolor like effects on thicker papers.) You can get some really nice soft blends with these. Pros: Very nice brush! Foam rubber, maybe a little bit rubbery, but not too bad, very responsive and forgiving. Lays down a LOT of ink, which I like Chisel is large and designed to cover large areas- may be quite useful for architectural sketching Cons: Don't seem to be commonly available Different alcohol marker solvents cause different reactions, may not be totally compatible with markers in your existing collection Because these are so juicy, they will probably blend through your paper, so you'll want to work with a protective sheet underneath, especially if you work with a lot of layers. Fieldtest: These are a little scrubby on this paper, and FEEL like they're dry, even though they're not. That said, these are really fun for overblending, and invite working fast These markers are REALLY prone to rolling, and you may lose a few. When coloring a large area (like her hair) they can be a bit difficult to control, but blend nicely. You do get a bit of speckling from overblending. Pros: These are maybe TOO fun th play with- its so easy to overwork, because these are really easy to use, fairly comfortable in the hand, and blend SO WELL The brush on this is pretty nice, able to draw really fine lines, or cover thick areas quickly Inkflow seems like it's able to keep up Cons: A bit pricy Limited availability Music: Kevin MacLeod: Dream Culture Calmant Meditation Impromput 03 Silver Blue Light Windswept Tranquility Snow Drop Blue Feather #alcoholmarkers #artmarkers #SketchmarkerBrush
