Cactus - 3D Printed Plant (Patreon)
Content
STL and 3MF files found here.
Cactus 1
The 3mf file includes options for multi-color and single-color printing.
It is recommended to print the two parts of this model separately and assemble afterwards.
For those using the stl files, you will need to print 1 Base and 163 Nubs.
Depending on printer settings, the Nubs may press fit into the cactus base, but it is recommended to use glue to keep them from coming out.
Due to the angle variation, different holes will have different tolerances.
A manual filament change at Layer 69 can be done to give the dirt and cactus different colors, as seen below.
Cactus 2
The 3mf file includes options for multi-color and single-color printing.
It is recommended to print the three parts of this model separately and assemble afterwards.
For those using the stl files, you will need to print 1 Base, 1 Flower, and 1 Flower Stem
This model incorporates the use of raw filament to achieve the proper look.
You will need 16 strands of filament cut to 100mm that press fit into the top and bottom of each ridge.
It is recommended to press the filament strand into the bottom of the ridge first. Then guide the strand along the ridge and press fit it into the top.
A manual filament change at Layer 69 can be done to give the dirt and cactus different colors, as seen below.
Pots
Each pot has two indents that line up with each plant base.
You will line up the plant base with this indent, push the plant in, then turn clockwise to secure the plant.
This keeps the plant securely in place while making it simple and convenient to switch pots or plants as you choose!
