Yay I got here straight away again

Omg my show is on (this saves me from another afternoon of mandated love island catch up for work lol). This is so speedy, are you doing these on a schedule or just whenever you feel like it?

diana (world of tinashe)

episode five made me understand Tao’s overprotectiveness of his friends even more (alongside the loss of his dad too), the fact that he’s been blaming himself for Charlie getting outed for all this time just because someone overheard him, Elle and Isaac talking about it…the way Charlie immediately “forgave” and embraced him 🥹 Charlie slamming the door in Harry’s face at Tara’s party was everything! Mr. Ajayi and Farouk…I’m SAT

just know whenever you post heartstopper, you're making me the happiest person alive!

Tiny easter egg, in the bookstore scene in the middle of ep 6 on the shots of Isaac walking across the frame as he gradually picks up more books, the blue and purple books on the right bookshelf are 2 of Alice's (Radio Silence and Loveless)! Loveless, the purple one, ends up in his stack of books in the last shot of that sequence. Ben is so in the closet he's afraid to do anything that could even be remotely perceived as gay, especially with this happening right after Tao (secure in his sexuality) kisses Charlie. It's like when you're so far into a lie that you start making up elaborate clearly false stuff to maintain it -- he'd almost rather be seen as homophobic than have anyone think he might be gay. Despite being kind of a horrible person, it's very sad and I feel bad for that aspect of his character.

The Isaac/James kiss is such a great parallel to Nick and Charlie's first kiss in s1, it's set up the same way but there's something off about it. There are so many shots in this ep and in prev eps that show Isaac alone, surrounded by his friends who are all coupled off, which is a lonely feeling for anyone, but he's been holding out waiting to find someone he likes. The earlier scenes with James give the impression that he thinks he might be into guys, and he hasn't shown any interest in girls. The kiss isn't necessarily bad, but there are no sparks from his end (any animations have been representing James' emotions). He should like James -- they're friends, he's cute, they've been growing closer -- but he doesn't. The scene when he re-enters the party post kiss made me cry the first time I saw it, because he's so isolated physically and emotionally, and it's implied that he doesn't know if his friends would understand, and then emphasized in the truth or dare with "everyone has a celebrity crush". He's feeling othered by all of his peers and close friends, even though no one is intentionally trying to make him feel that way. In a show and a friend group and a world that is focused on being in love and finding your other half, what happens when you don't feel that? I could go write an even longer comment, but I'm not sure if it would count as a spoiler, given that nothing has really been spelled out yet! Ty for watching & sharing your reaction as always!

The way this show can make you cry like a baby in the quietest moments where nothing significant is happening… it’s magical how intensely it surfaces our memories & feelings. Mr. Farouk & Mr. Ajayi deserve everything good in this world. What sweethearts. 😭 I can relate to Mr. Farouk quite a bit, even though I’ve known I was gay since I was 12. I’m approaching 27 and still haven’t had any romantic/intimate experiences with someone. I’m not at all embarrassed to talk about this openly, btw. It’s simply my reality and that’s something that hasn’t happened yet for me. But I completely identified with him being apprehensive because of his inexperience or feeling like it’s too late for him. Alright… that’s enough therapy for today. See you soon with episodes 7 & 8, as well as the start of season 3. Warning: You’ll need lots of tissues!! 🚨😂

You guys we are only 1 ep away from s3!!! 😁 I’m excited

I need to count how many times poor Nick has to say “bi, actually”. I love that he holds his ground though, and continues to speak up for himself. Thank you for being so sensitive about assuming sexualities. I hope you know that your heart being in the right place also matters, intention and all that. Probably more than words. The scene with Nick’s father always makes me squirm. A parent not putting effort towards their child, not really caring to know them, is so damaging. Thank goodness he has his mother, who is the polar opposite. Nick and Charlie’s warmth and empathy towards each other at such a young age is so beautiful to watch. The world is so ugly sometimes, so to be able to escape into an environment like the one Heartstopper gives us is sometimes such a relief. Like a big bowl of ice cream and Heartstopper can shut everything out just for a little while 🩵

I walked up the Washington Monument, but I refused to walk up or down the Eiffel Tower!

I hate to admit it, but I was not impressed with the Mona Lisa. You can't get close enough, and the crush of people is maddening! Perhaps if it were cleaned and the yellowed varnish removed?

Heartstopper Forever is a Netflix original film, so Netflix hasn't announced a theatrical release, and I don't think it will get one. It's most likely just going to drop on Netflix. There is always a small possibility of some sort of festival or special fan events, so there will probably be some kind of event, but not a regular theatrical release, there could even be another like podcast/interview with the cast. They did that for season 3 I'm so excited for the movie 😍😍😍😍😍😍

Hi, I'm French so just a little precision, "Martine" is only a girl name in France and "Martin" the boy version isn't pronounced the same than in English so unfortunately Nick's dad is definitely talking about a woman. And he's just the typical French dad assuming his son can only be straight (it's starting to change but there's still lots of homophobia in France even without people realizing it).

Nicole Sadler

I always get so excited when you post these!!

Preston

I've been to the Eiffel Tower but I've never been in France

Julien

Until he is no longer on the show I will Comment that Ben is a horrible person and I feel nothing for him. He is a horrible person despite being in the closet not because of it. Sorry.
