Sound Euphonium likes to play with the parallels of the weather and dramatic tensions within the show, the first half of the episode takes the allegory of the 'calm before the storm' to be both literal & metaphorical.

This chapter is beautiful, I love how in the end Kumiko understands the importance of Taki's feelings, the love for his wife and how Reina really doesn't stand a chance lol. Reina's crush has always seemed like the weakest motivation in the story to me and I really think it's just a childish phase. I love this chapter because it shows the difference between real love and a crush and sets the limit that Reina will never have any kind of relationship with her teacher in that way.
