I want to say first that I don't have a problem with MIDI. I only have a problem when it's not used in a more musical or creative way.

This is the prime example of how a band uses MIDI style sounds to create a creative experience. The use of the electronic MIDI drums and the MIDI bass line is how it's done!

I know I have listened to this band before as well as the song, but I had no idea that it could be performed with live instruments vs using a backtracking.

Hey! Wait! I don't think it was me who made the comment about crooked faces. Now I have to go back and look :p . I do tease NittPicc quite a bit ... but all in fun :) . The doubleneck was cobbled together for Chris so along with the finicky electronics the instrument was fragile and prone to breaking. Yes, 3 were made for him to tour. There are 3 of the standard Misa Digital Kitara on Ebay and only one is functional. That should tell you something. There are a few demo's of the original instrument on YT and its not just a simple midi pad. In the original MV you catch a few fleeting glimpses of the instrument but unless you are paying attention it is easily dismissed. I thought this would be fun for NittPicc to see it is probably the most airtime the special bass gets.

Matt is using the most industrial strength mic stand I've ever seen. 😀 He's got a beautiful voice, and having someone in the band that can harmonize with you is invaluable. I'm not big on electronic music, but Muse is smart and tasteful with it. They don't use it as a shortcut or as a substitute for talent or creativity.
