My mind was already blow away from reacting to it first on YouTube, but this is just SO much better live!

It's like getting little treats here and there with the solos!

I could hear Kanami's guitar parts clearly and could hear how she changes some sections to make the music more interesting. She really outdid herself here in stepping out of her comfort zone. It's Kanami though. What can't she do?

...also...

MIKU SOLO!

This song live is fun, meant to be I'm sure. When I watched the stream and this started the question was, what are they going to do with this as it is a short song on the EP. The additions of crowd participation and solos add that extra for it being live - they killed it. As for Misa's bass line, Kanami asked Misa to make it extremely unconventional, " that bass line is amazing" and the rest of the band chimed in after hearing it saying how amazing it is. I have a tendency to listen for Misa first on Band Maid tracks, Hate live was my first BM song and she got me intrigued with them - most listened to band since. I've said this before, Miku's progression on guitar has (imo) allowed Kanami and Misa more freedom with their playing. The vocal pair of Saiki and Miku is perfect for Band Maid. As for techno BM, ummm - not so much, maybe a little dabble but not full on. When you get to Lock and Load, there is an addition that was a surprise and a delight - you'll know when you hear and see it.

They must release this as an official live video. It is just a killer track. For a band that did true improv, check out King Crimson, especially ‘73-4. Line they would have at least one, and often more, full band improvs. Nothing planned, no structure, just somebody starts something and they play off of that. Or sometimes not, sometimes somebody decides to go in a different direction.

I love the stage with the screens!

Again, it's Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things! They don't fit into any mold; they are the mold! Don't Dilly Dally!

Charles Coleman

NittPicc - and anyone else who has not yet seen them in concert - if you think they are having in this video, wait until you see how much fun they have for an entire Okyu-ji! It's a big part of what makes a Band Maid show so special! And then there is Omajinai Time Po! The most important part of Okyuji Po!

Charles Coleman

NittPicc, are you thinking of Band Maiko's "Secret Maiko Lips?"

Charles Coleman

Okay, I'm not a huge fan of disco, but I don't hate it. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd go with Disco Inferno.

The most fun song of the night, without a doubt. I like a little dose of disco, but I'm not a techno fan; however, living in Europe, I've listened to a lot of synthpop. Knock on Wood (Ami Stewart) and Rock the Boat (Hues Corporation) on one side, and Tainted Love (Soft Cell) and Just Can't Get Enough (Depeche Mode) on the other. Everyone to the dance floor!!. This was the debut of this song live. No doubt they should had the idea of crowd participation and extended version in mind from the songwriting. They always compose with the live performances in mind.

No matter if they interject several solos in the song, I love it so much, it's NEVER long enough!!!!!

Vlad the Maidiac

Yeah... "King Crimson is not so much a band, it's a method." So yes, a lot of Japanese bands internalized this method and use it successfully.

Great reaction and when this came up on the stream, it was a real surprise and I'm sure everyone watching had the same reaction - what is this and why is it so great and look, there's Miku with a solo. Pretty sure was all rehearsed relentlessly until they had it down (there was a backing track with the dilly dally vocal). Kanami has said a number of times that she doesn't consider a song finished until they play it live. She's also said she wants to push Miku more with more solo parts during concerts, so those lucky enough to get to see them this year will probably get to see the little pigeon doing more solos. This was part of an amazing 50 minute run - here's the set list - notice that DD is in middle: 17. MC (Omajinai Time) 1:07:07 18. Lock and Load (Saiki on keyboard) 1:27:53 19. without holding back (Saiki on keyboard) 1:31:22 20. Toi et moi (extended bass and drum intro) 1:35:45 21. Dilly-Dally (extended solo relay: Misa then Miku then Akane then Kanami) 1:41:49 22. Unleash!!!!! 1:46:34 23. NO GOD 1:49:50 24. Magie 1:54:01 25. MC 1:57:30

Another point, Saiki was on fire this whole concert, by the end she was a bit pitchy on the last song "Present Perfect" and I'm wasn't surprised, I've never seen her so powerful during a whole live, she was amazing.

Eaglez1

The previous song where they performed behind the screens was Toi Et Moi.

Nitt-o Picc-o, I'd love to see you react to the 4 Self-Liner Notes videos on their fan club page. They go into detail about all of the songs on SCOOOOOP.

Nomad1991

Cluppo and Bandmaid …I knew you would love dilly dally..I love it ..it’s different from all the other songs on the ep🤘🏻🫶🏼🤘🏻

Biil B.

Saiki and Miku both slayed vocally that night. They just keep getting better and better.

Drive Time

It was the debut of the extended bridge, but the 4th time they played the song.

Juan San

Oh, then I misunderstood completely the comment

David Cook

sorry but I stopped listening to western music in the late 90's early 2000's BECAUSE of the techno influence, having said that I have come to appreciate it a little after firstly listening to Hanabie and now this song (my fav on the SCOOOOOP ep). I still am not a 100% fan of techno but can tolerate and appreciate it if done in moderation and with the skill of said bands.
