NOTE: I accidentally said that the voice coming through the open window during Ninamori's bath was Naota. I meant to say Naota's father name, Kamon Nandaba.

I think I am starting to understand this show. I think there is a mindset that I need to be in in order to fully grasp the story and what it is trying to show me.

I wanted to feel bad for the hardened Ninamori since her father was having an affair with his secretary while her parents were in the throws of a divorce, but it seems like no matter how mature she was leading herself on to be, her youth shines through with her lies and manipulation of the school play.

It was Naota's father yes, but if for westereners like us it could be weird, remember that in japon, public bath are a thing, just like it is normal to have bath together with your father/mother or your brother/sister as a kid, they're is of course an age when it could feel weird, but the intimacy of the bath isn't as clear as it is for us. BUT, in the sametimes, the classic old man creeping on the woman bath is a stereotype weel known in animated show, so that might be a nod to that too (even if Naota's father may be here just to be helpful and assure that Ninamori doesn't talk about the incident). It's funny that the monster in this episode look like a parasyte and manipulate Ninamori's body like a puppet, when like you said, she was herself being manipulative, we talk about her father being the mayor (a poletician then) and we talk also a lot about hiding things and liying in this episode, especially hiding the truth, provoking a guilt that could parasyte our everyday life and make us feel bad and sick. We could almost think that Ninamori having stomach issues could be a response to her hiding her true felling. There is so much to interpret into this chaos of a show, that it become almost genious. And once again, I want to glaze the animation team, because the fluidity in this episode was stellar, we can see they cut some slack on some scenes like reusing three time Haruko's smile when she is on top of the bed, but since they used a good 360 again and the fight animation was gorgeous, they are good for that.
