I did my research and (tried) to make a cool research essay at the end of this video. You can see me painfully looking at my notes on my laptop.

I really did enjoy the research on this reaction though!

I might need to invest in a teleprompter for future projects...

Hi Boston! I can almost feel that wet little nose :p. Great job with your research and analysis. The song was significant to the band even before its release as everything just fell into place easily and was written in a single recording session. The lyrics illustrate the juxtaposition of these leaders being good and evil, but also shows the common thread of massive influence. Hitler was also originally included but later removed. You can see how easily he would fit within the context. I'll only offer a single correction. The song begins with an edited quote from the beginning of "Message to the Grass Roots", a speech by Malcolm X: "... And during the few moments that we have left, ... We want to talk right down to earth in a language that everybody here can easily understand. Ironically I don't know much about Fred Hampton (who you referenced) other than the fact he was assassinated in 1969. You make some good points about blind faith. Congrats on NOT bringing modern politics into your analysis ... I am sure you can understand why many people would do that. I actually have a perfect song to throw into the DISCORD if you want to explore the black aspect of this group. They had a unique way of presenting highly controversial subject matter in a way people could really relate to.

The unmistakable opening riff to this song itself is timeless IMO. The guitar solo grabbed me because it was so different to what I was used to hearing on the radio at the time. Being a history buff, I got the references and theme of the song right away. This along with Black Sabbath's War Pigs, along with some others are still relevant today. The one and only time I ever saw Living Color was when they opened for The Rolling Stones in 1989 and they were great. Changing the subject, you mentioned Lovebites and not going down that path. I would be pleased if you did, they released a new album that is chef's kiss IMO.

War Pigs is in the discord to be done ;) . When NittPicc did her Grammy thing and mentioned Black Sabbath it was the first thing that sprang to mind. The show you referenced would have been great to see ... Living Colour is still playing. I just saw Lovebites when they came to the US a couple of months ago. The Japanese bands always remind me why I will never go to another stadium show (especially at todays prices).

Yes, the prices are ridiculous, and the bands are so far away from you if you don't spend a zillion dollars to get close.

Wrong band :p .

Charles Coleman

The lyrics to this song were powerful then and still relevant today. I think people would do well to really consider the message that was being conveyed here. Like a lounge lizard at 2AM in the bar, there are people who will tell you what you want to hear so they can use you to their own devices, but they don't really care much about you. Aside from that, I really liked this band. And this a great song!

Charles Coleman

I think the chaos of this song is a perfect fit for the chaos he's singing about.

Funny you mentioned CM Punk.... singer Corey Glover's yellow spandex reminded me of Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig. 🤣
