It was nice to see Eisen again. I guess Dwarves have a longer lifespan than humans? He looks pretty good for it being a "mere" 30 years since he and Frieren had seen each other.

From experiencing a sunrise with a friend, to finding your teacher's old grimoire...this story has a new journey and I look forward to what is coming in the next episodes!

Just a note: In Episode 2, Frieren learned a spell to make grapes sour. Episode 3–we find out that Eisen’s favorite food is sour grapes. Episode 4–Frieren uses the spell she acquired to give Eisen Sour Grapes. Just shows one of the many reasons she searches for spells is to make her friends happy.

Flamme's voice actor, Atsuko Tanaka, passed away in August 2024, this is one of her final roles. Always feel emotional when I hear her voice

NittPicc watch many shows and with week between episodes is normal not remember small things like sour grapes. But that makes is a great show to rewatch. I myself only kept few scenes in memory and was waiting for more stories about them. One of those was in first episode.

End of the "prologue". This four first episodes where aired at the same time like a movie. Now we have a destination, so the adventure really begins. First season is 28 episodes long, so we are for a long way. The firs appareance of Oba-chan (granny) Frieren...HA HA. And also the first appereance of Flamme. Sadly the voice actress of Flamme, Atsuko Tanaka passed away in 2024 at age 61. Talking about "Violet Evergarden". The artstyle is the most beautiful I've ever seen in an anime. A masterpiece from Kyoto Animation, the same studio of "Sound Euphonium!". But be careful, the story it's not for the weak of heart. It's a gut punch.

Everyone has their own what the afterlife is like.

You're pronouncing grimoire correctly, in terms of etymology it's considered to most likely be derived from the old French word grammaire 'grammar', it had initially been used to refer to all books written in Latin and later gained the association with magic. You're right to double check though, the way some folk knowingly mispronounce or don't bother to check how to say words correctly at times is enough to give you an aneurysm.

Elves in this time are rare beings, some haven't even seen a fellow elf in centuries. :)
