Dude...Haikyuu...

This show is getting better and better. Listening to Kageyama sort of rip into Hinata about him being important to the team no matter what position he holds was something Hinata needed to hear.

He holds "the little giant" and Asahi high in is head because it's a role he wants to play, but he learns that he can't be an ace, but he add value to the team because of jump height and speed.

I talk to me kids about this sometimes. It may not be something they want to hear, but I try to tell them that it's okay to push themselves to achieve something they want, but it doesn't mean that they have to be good at everything. No matter what...they will always have something to bring to the table!

I realize now that a "decoy" is not an actual position in volleyball.

Yeah, you're correct, there's no official "Decoy" position. But players acting as decoys is extremely common. If you watch a real volleyball match, you'll see multiple players jumping and swinging pretty much every time a team goes on the attack. As you may expect, it makes it more difficult for the opposing team to determine who the real spiker is going to be for that play. The level of coordination pro players have to be able do it in a way that looks convincing is pretty incredible! I've shared a few volleyball videos on the anime chat channel on Discord, if you want to see it in action! I've tried to show examples of pro players who resemble Karasuno team members. Some of the resemblances in play style and ability are really cool!

Loving this fun watch in contrast to the emotional overload from some of the others
