Look...I can handle the deaths of the characters that have lived a full life. It's sad and yes, I miss them even though I only had what felt like a few minutes with each of them...

...but this episode shows me how attached I am to these characters already. I was NOT OKAY with seeing Fern get stabbed in the shoulder.

I am definitely NOT OKAY with Stark getting hurt! I'm so proud of him for standing up again and holding his own, but seeing the axe hit him in the side was hard to watch.

I need to know that they are all going to be okay...NOW!

Your reactions and comments were giving me life during this episode :)

In fact, I’d prefer two episodes at the same time 😂 So some things to consider… It’s unknown if Frieren has more mana than Aura, if she does, then why didn’t Frieren take Aura out 80 years ago instead of forcing her to retreat and go into hiding. It’s very interesting that all the demons that made it after the demon king, waited until Himmel died to start acting up again. 2) The soldier that possessed a strong will who temporarily resisted Aura’s spell had the Granat Family Crest. It is implied that the soldier is Graf Granat’s son. 3) they won’t tell the most logical way Aura dealt with the strong willed but considering they no longer have heads attached to their suits of armor… I guess that’s how she got them to not resist. 😬

Remember one thing, Fern only know few peoples using magic, at least one was Heiter and the other was Frieren, so if you compare yourself to them, you will inevitably feel weak in comparison. Same for Stark who only had Eisen as an exemple. So they both don't know how strong they really are, they're just two babies bird that just had their first flight far from the nest (and mama bird Frieren). But it's still cool to see Fern being stoic and almost cold while kiking Lugner ass and Stark being a badass even covered in blood.

Ha ha. Is really hard when the episode ends high up and the arc is still running. No problem for me for you to watch more than an episode in one run. The walk of Fern while figthing Lügner is badass!.

I totally get the compulsion to want to binge, but it is fun to have the weekly interaction & feedback, also reminds me of watching it first time round as it was released and not having a choice in the matter. Spending a week mulling over the events of the previous episode often gets you more emotionally invested as well. If you you do decide to do multiple episodes at a time then limit it to 2-3 at the most; when you binged the back end of Girls Band Cry it felt like we lost a little of that fun interactive element in the process. Eisen has said that Stark is stronger than him, but when he started training him it was already over half a century after the Party of Heroes had defeated the demon king, dwarves are much longer lived than humans but Eisen has certainly suggested he has declined physically since then. Not going to give you much in the way of musings about Frieren herself as plenty more will get revealed & explained next episode.

Plus Heiter's magic was cleric-style/sacred (he only had the most basic grasp of regular magic) so quite different in nature from the magecraft that Frieren has taught her.

The tortuous life of a reaction reviewer watching an amazing series :) Back to back to back is fine with me

They always pick the best place to end an episode, but unlike you, the rest of us lowly underlings, WE had to wait a WHOLE WEEK for the next episode.

Nomad1991

How they end episodes makes you want to watch the next having to wait sucks so much …..

I think Linie delivers an important lesson. Technique, by itself, does not guarantee success. There are other factors that play into making the technique effective. Linie was able to score superficial hits by imitating Eisen's technique but lacked the underlying strength to make it effective on Stark (the biggest damage was to his confidence, which is his weak point). It's like the difference between a martial arts competition and a real fight. A flawless technique that scores you points in a competition may not injure an opponent in a street fight. Maybe if Linie used a technique more suited to speed and not strength, she may have won that fight. Oh the arrogance of these demons.

Well I've just caught up 5 back to back so I certainly couldn't complain 🤣 After this next one I'll have to suffer waiting a week like you too!
