This band apparently has sort of a revolving door, but not in a bad way. They feature guest artists in their group from other bands like Jill from Unlucky Morpheus!

Our singer Nana has a voice that fits into the 80's for me. I really love her sound in general!

The band has a great unison sound. I honestly love how much the keyboard enhanced the overall sound.

I curious about other performances where they feature other guest artists!

Think back to your Destrose reaction. This is Captain Mina's band that she formed after Destrose disbanded. That band was also a huge revolving door if you recall. I think it's just the way Captain Mina operates. Imagine this with JUNNA on drums ;) . Mina is not very kawaii ;) . She tends to remove the frilly cutesy elements from every project she leads. I find it kind of refreshing. I think the dance step is mostly attributable to Erika the bass player ... who I was surprised to like so much. Both Nana and Hime actually both have very feminine clean vocals, which does create that juxtaposition you find in a lot of Japanese metal and rock. FATE GEAR has also used keytar in some songs but compositionally there is always keys in their music. Captain Mina is an excellent guitar player as well ... phenomenal actually. She somehow manages to attract top talent always.

Heard the name, had not listened to them until now - yet another Japanese band to check out. I liked this song and it has led me to wanting more. By the way, going to rib you a bit :). When referring to the drummer you called her Haruna, her name is Haruka. Easy mistake I know, Haruna (Lovebites) is a force that stays with you.

They are currently a 2-piece band (and have been for a couple of years after their keyboard player Kurumi left). Only Captain Mina (guitar and nowadays sometimes vocals) and drummer Haruka. I think the last time they were a complete band was in 2020 or 2021. They hadn't had a fulltime vocalist for way longer though. I believe only in the very beginning they had one, all the rest have been guest vocalists. On their website (and their CDs) it says: 【プロジェクトメンバー】 (Project members, sometimes on the CDs it says "Fate Gear Crew") Mina隊長 (Guitar, Bass, Compose, Voice etc.) Haruka : (Drums, Compose, 一部のジャケットデザイン) 【2025 tour guests】 (often called Guest Crew on their CDs). Vocals : NANA, Ba:Erika, Vocals : KOKOMI (ex.Asriel, MISLIAR) Vocals : 橋村姫 Violin : Jill They have been using the same people for a lot of their live sessions and music videos though. Bassist Erika used to be part of the band and still continues to play with them live (her current band Pinkish Crown is on a hiatus at the moment). Nana used to be a mainstay vocalist for them (she never was an official member of the band though) although she isn't performing with them live that often any more. Her band Gungire was taking off somewhat. They are pretty heavy, but worth checking out. Nana is also one of my favourite Japanese vocalists to watch perform live with the amount of energy she brings (Regan of Saiseiga is an other one). I believe the band used to be a 4 or 5-piece when they started, but apparently it's still not the easiest to work with Captain Mina (just like it was in Destrose, which had over 20 members in 8 years or so). That said, it seems like she at least found some people that are willing to work with her live. As far as Jill goes, she is only performing with them on a couple of tracks (including some of my favourite tracks by them). I would call this close to a solo project by Captain Mina at this point, but she still has some talented muscians helping them out. I have seen some streaming live performances by them and I love seeing Nana and Erika perform, they are always full of enery and are a blast to watch. While they are not among my favourite Japanese bands, they are certainly worth checking out more of. My favourite tracks by them come off of their "The Sky Prison" album, including the title track and "Draw You Dagger", which both have videos (although the title track makes it seem like Jill is part of the band because of it). btw as a fun fact, the will be releasing a new 6-track EP/album in a couple of days on July 8th. and as a good example of how their albums are created, the vocalists will be: Voice : 田中理恵 -Tr. 1 Vocals:okogeeechann Tr. 2 KOKOMI (MISLIAR, ex. Asriel) – Tr. 3 橋村姫 -Tr. 4,5 (the 6th track is a live track) Captain Mina will also doing vocals on tr 4. No more Nana any more unfortunately.
