I really enjoyed the energy in the episode here, but maybe you can help me out with why subbing in Yamaguchi.

I understand they were trying their best to get the air around Karosuno stronger, but I guess it was hard for me to wrap my mind around the mistake that Yamaguchi made.

I believe it does make Yamaguchi a stronger player because he will learn from his mistakes, but I feel like that is 1 point they had to really work to get back, ya know?

In terms of the 2 points, as far as I know it's winning by a clear 2 points, like with a game in tennis. So if it gets to 25-25 then a team would need to get 27-25 to win, or if they go 26-25 and then 26-26 a team would need to get to 28-26 to win - i.e. it could go on for a long time... About the pinch server, it looked to me like a few different factors - firstly the coach thought the pinch server could win the point and make a difference. Secondly Hinata was due on serve and in the back field for the next few points - his serve has been relatively weak , so subbing at that point made sense and bring him back when he's back up front. But ultimately I think the point was just doing something / anything, can change the momentum of a game, even if it's not immediately rewarding - for whatever reason it helped the other members of the team, maybe to try and make him feel less bad about the failure etc.

You're 100% right on both points. Especially about Yamaguchi. I think Ukai was hoping that even if Yamaguchi missed it would be enough of a mental reset for the team to get them back in the game.
