The dots are slowly connecting...

The village where Maomao is being held has a community that is predominantly red/green colorblind

This means there could be a possibility of there being a relation to the royal bloodline(?)

Looking at Suirei closely at this point makes me think she could be related to Jinshi...which means she could be related to the late emperor...right?

We finally meet Lady Shenmei who has apparently abused Shisui and the boy, Kyou-yu

What else am I missing?

I didn't wanted to spoil it for you, but now that you talk about it, I can finally say it, remember how season 1 introduced Lakan, we hated him and found him weird and creepy, then we learned his story and our opinion on him did a 180, you just started the same thing about Suirei and Shisui. Don't judge a book on it cover say the idiom, it is especially true in this show, with how the story telling imply some things then reframe it in a different point of view to open our eyes on the truth. I will just say, just like the end of season 1, get some tissues ready just in case. But to talk about your thinking, yep, you're on the right track. I will add, we already know that Shiso, Loulan's father is colorblind, thank to the trick of Lakan, so Shisui/Loulan being also colorblind does make sens in a way. Also, it will be explained later about a certain something you noted, but you were on the right track here too. Just a funny thing I like to say, Maomao had choice between frogs and insects and choose the chicken, me, like a lot of peoples, like to ship Maomao with Jinshi, but also Shisui, so this scene made me smile everytime since it's basically Maomao choosing to not go for the frog (Jinshi) or the insect (Shisui), by chicheneing out lol. Btw, just fun facts, the ship name for Maomao and Jinshi is JinMao, the ship name between Maomao and Shisui is... Pesticide lol. Also, another funny ship that is almost exclusif to this show, is Maomao with... poison, you know our girl love her poisons and drugs lol.

Season 3 part 1 begins next October. Part 2 in April 2027. The movie is in December but as is an original story, is not needed to watch it to understand season 3 plot. It's just a bonus.
