You're telling me that this whole time the entire town has been controlled by Drosselmeyer's stories and if you enter the town, you are now in the story? Top it all off, he created a way to keep writing even after his death?

Come to think of it...I as the viewer have thought that the animals as members of the school has been odd in a world that has a bunch of human characters and I could've sworn that Ahiru has questioned the animal characters within the world. Does this mean that no one in this town have free will? Is their fate already sealed?

There's so much more unfolding in this show and IT'S GETTING GOOD!

love this episode. lots to talk about. I'll first say this episode got me to SUPER fall in love with the great gates of kiev. such a wonderful piece, and it feels almost heavenly when used in this episode. Extremely memorable final scene. The only scene I want to talk about for now is that final scene with Rue, because its my favorite scene in the whole show. If Rue was doing her duty as Kraehe correctly, she would have woo'ed Autor, and then taken his heart for the Raven, which is what Rue planned to do. It's also the farthest shes succeeded on her own since that crazy guy with the bulls a few episodes back which totally failed. However, Rue, for her entire life, has been told over and over again that shes a horrible ugly creature, that nobody will ever love her except for the Raven and the prince. So when somebody other than those two actually tells her with 100 percent sincerity that they love Rue, she can only respond back with shock, disbelief, and anger. It goes against what shes been told, and what she fully believes of herself. All she can do is to angrily yell at Autor to stop it and go away, perhaps out of fear that hes lying, or out of fear that everything she ever thought about herself was wrong. It's such a heartwrenching scene for Rue...
