You are right about the scars. His defeat made him so mad that he scratched his face to scars and lost a lot of weights too, that just show how pathetic he is. I won't say much and let you enjoy the next episode spoiler free, but the end is litteraly a "oh no, he unleashed the beast" moment. As for your question, well, most of the time, androginous character have one target, the girlies. The bishonen are for the girl that like delicate men, but also, a more "dark side", the fujoshies... A fujoshi is a girl/woman, who like to read yaoi and bl (boy's love), mangas that are about gay boys/men, generally speaking there is always the "seme" (the dominant one) and the "uke" (the submisive one), the uke is generally pretty feminine, they also LIIIIIIIKE to ship male characters that aren't canon gay together (but i do the same with women for my love of sapphism so, i can't say much about them lol). As for the girls that present themselves in a more masculin way in manga/anime, they're either tomboy or "prince", when it's the prince way, they're also for the girlies, because they have the cool and reliable aura, that make every girls fall in love. You can see that with Tina in Rock is a lady's modesty and it's a classic trope in romance manga and yuri (manga about lesbian). When it happen in shonen like Dragon Ball, Naruto ect ect, there could be a reason to why in the story, but shonen being mostly made for boys and young men, it could be to attract a female audience too, but not in the "i see myself in this character" and more in a "he is cute" kind of way. Even if some lack of female characters, there is enough shonen with strong girls and women now to self insert as a woman. Also, yep, i'm french, but if i remember you said having latina and asian origines, that is also pretty cool in my book.
