A DATE?! Was Stark thinking when he asked? A part of me thinks him saying that out loud made him look like a dumb boy, but I think somewhere deep down inside he wants to take Fern out for a nice evening.

Listening to Frieren tell Stark all the things that Fern would love was heart warming. Learning what someone likes and keeping it straight isn't always easy. I'm serious about that. I have a best friend that I see at least once a year and every time he visits I ask him if he would like to go eat some lobster or shrimp.

...he's allergic to shellfish...

I wonder how the date is gonna go!!!

LoneStar Avenger

Just be realistic about your expectations for the date. Stark was still a young boy when he left his village, like 7-8 years old. And I doubt that...can't remember his name, the guy who trained him, gave him any tips on what to do on a date. And Fern has even less experience. The only male figures in her life have been her father and Heiter. And some of Frieren's dating advice has been circumspect. i.e. the "seduction technique" taught to her by Flamme.

Just what Sein says....Just date already!!!...HA HA The music in this episode is amazing.

You’re very sweet but that pic is of me with my daughter when she graduated high school 2 years ago. 😂 I’m definitely older than you, I’m basically Frieren in comparison 😋

So this is Flamme’s third infraction of being a certified freak and misinforming Frieren to get her laid. 1) Told her guys enjoy potions that dissolve clothes. (Ep 12) 2) teaching her the “Throw a kiss” seduction technique (ep 13) 3) If you’re alone with a dude, it’s a date. At least that’s my interpretation 😂

Nittpicc slowly turning into Fern. If you're crushing on Stark now, ooh just wait. 😈 To answer your question, I'm older by Gen Z standards (1992), but you're never too old to make dumb jokes 😂

First part of the episode : We see a sweet side of Stark, wanting to see what his master (Eisen) saw, that just show how much respect and love he have for him, it's really more a father/son relationship at this point. And once again, we also saw how quick Stark is able to make friend whith children and other villager, he may not have made a lot of things for now, but i'm sure people will remember him just for the good time he passed with them. Second part : "the woman was too shocked to talk", that summarise pretty much the reaction of Fern when she is asked on a date, you can almost see the "error 404 : normal behavior not found" on her brain as she leave the room lol. But yeah, WE all knew that it would happen eventually, they finally will have their first date and you can sense that both of them are pretty nervous about it, which is a good sign that they take it seriously and really care for each other. Also, my old efl mage cannot be this cute, Frieren tantrum was something, i remember pausing to laugh at the sight of this scene and the sound the first time, but on a side note, that also show that she was casual and friend enough with the three other to be like that around them, that isn't the kind of side of someone that you see often after all.

Flamme was a menace!....HA HA

Bret Lowe

In Flamme's defense: 1) Her advice is 1000 years old 2) She was essentially raised by Serie, not a paragon of emotional intelligence :)

15:49 Nittpicc, your dog walks into the room as the lizard monster is jumping down from its perch. Very fierce :)

Another episode that takes the time to build interest and a bit of tension. The one thing I can't understand is when they are climbing the mountain to the hot spring, why didn't they just fly up there and back down?

Bret Lowe

My only hypothesis is that flying uses up mana and they don't want to be caught unprepared if something happens. They referenced this in the episode when Stark got poisoned and Fern didn't have enough mana to fly to the large city.

This episode's somewhat on the nose main German pun/easter egg of sorts is that the fortress city/hotspring town they are visiting in the second half is called Heiß, which is literally just the word for hot. Also the Etwas mountains where the hidden hotspring is located translates as the 'Something' mountains.
