Figured I'd lead off with that. Picture's worth a thousand words so, boom, my job here's basically done! If you prefer a video version of this, here you go. Fair warning, Will did it again (audible groan). (edit note: for some reason, YouTube isn't letting this unlisted video be shared. Worked last time. Hoping to find a solve. TBD)

Ok, as for the reading crowd: sup nerds? Buried within this text is a hidden, secret message that will lead one of you (yes, YOU!) to fame and fortune. That is not true but figured I'd give any of those video suckers snooping around a reason to feel like they’re missing out by leaving us. Why? Because I’m bored. And it’s raining. And I need to feel some sort of something right now. Will that be enough? Time will tell, dear reader.

You know what has made me feel something though? All the incredible work this team has produced in May.

Man that was a fucking good segue.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Jon did his first-ever APM music radio hour. Internally, a handful of us listened to the beginning of this at the same time and I believe we all paused around 45 seconds in and had to laugh over how equally good and bizarre this is. How often this can be done is TBD, mainly because Jon’s working on something bigger/cooler/more time-intensive, which you might’ve heard about (more on that later).

We started dropping our first new episodes of Collapse in like… 2 years? Longer? Feels like longer. We’ll have one more coming in a few weeks from Joe, then these will hit YouTube later in the summer.

Also, the first proper episode of our newest podcast came out. In case you missed it, Phys Ed is a show where Seth and Ryan chat with a guest (read: regular person, not professional athlete) to dive into their athletic achievements, experiences, failures - whatever they want to get into. Jon joined them to kick things off and painted the picture of a childhood that makes a whole lot of sense.

We also started dropping ad-free versions of our YouTube videos, so hope you’re enjoying them wherever you decide to watch.

WHAT’S COMING UP?

The big one is Scorigami. And fortunately, you don’t have to wait long. Part 1 might even be up on Patreon by the time you’re reading this (Monday, June 2nd, 12pm ET). This time around, Jon and Alex are diving much deeper into NFL scoring. The four-part series will come out on the first Monday of the month from now through September. If you want to save this info to your calendar, Jon made a handy little graphic for you that yes, I know, I already posted it - but c'mon, today's all about promotion and by god, I want to see Scorigami (analytically) soar.

We’ll have two episodes of Phys Ed coming out, keep your eyes peeled to Seth’s BlueSky for hints/teasers/updates on that front. We just finished up interviews for the full season 1 of this podcast, it’s 10 episodes (including Seth and Ryan’s opening salvo together) and we’re excited to hear what y’all think.

Mentioned this earlier, but we’ll also have another episode of Collapse for y’all, this one produced by Joe. I know there’s been a lot of talk in the comments over the history of Collapse about it being rude that certain people are “forced” to do episodes on their own favorite teams, but I can promise you no topic here is assigned to the producer and all episodes of Collapse is pitched by the person researching and writing the episode. If it uncovers their own misery, that’s their choosing. I say that because Joe did not choose to write one about the Falcons, this episode is on a different bird team, and want to celebrate such a healthy decision when compared to how the rest of us have (over time) all elected to cover our own sadness.

Lastly, more ad-free vids dropping throughout June to coincide with the sponsored launches over on YouTube. We’ve got all NBA slated for the month, coinciding with the Finals and the draft.

Looking further ahead, can more confidently now say that Weird Rules is making its YouTube return in July, and we’re aiming to launch our next new series at the start of August. June will be a little lighter to get ahead of all that, but hopefully everyone has vacations booked and aren’t even tuning into the internet as often (aside from when our stuff goes up. Please watch. Please clap.).

Oh, also, this doesn’t really make sense in any of the other sections so I’ll just use it to wrap this thing up: Jon’s writing a book? Love the guy but I’ve never even seen him read a book. Not sure he has it in him. Good luck though.

We love you. We’ll see you soon.

Wouldn't be the first person to write a book that has probably never read one. And frankly I think it's more likely that Jon Bois reads books when nobody is looking than that Donald Trump does

Blue Weber

I don’t have X or BlueSky or really any social media but Patreon and Reddit but the book news made me look at a BlueSky and boy am I excited.
