Hello it's your dear friend Clara. How are you? I am well. I'm here today to give you this episode of beef history about Bob Huggins getting pushed out of his job at the University of Cincinnati with no ads at all, aka the Pure Fun version.
I learned a lot making this video, including that if you write about someone being arrested, for liability reasons, you also have to talk about the outcome of the arrest. Which makes total sense. If the guy accused of punching a horse was later acquitted of all horse-punching charges, it's only fair to mention that. That's a real example from this video.
A lot of UC basketball players were charged with crimes in the Huggins era. It's a big reason the school had beef with him!
Another thing I learned while making this video: Bearcats, the UC Mascot, are much more bear-like than cat-like in behavior. Their movements are not sleek, they can't leap, rather they're flat footed and slow. This does not pertain to the video, but I did look it up while researching because a person gets curious. And you better believe I did try to force a metaphor or comparison with them into the beef. But they're not particularly mischievous, they don't punch each other or other animals, or steal, or aggravaedly assault their roommate if their roommate stole money from them. (something a UC player was accused of. He pled guilty. Gotta say the outcome!)
love,
Clara
