Is there a need for certain rules?

Many people would assume that between Jonathan and Kevin, a newly married couple, Kevin would be the one to take on the responsibility as the carrier, carrying their babies within his womb. Kevin had a relatively slimmer and shorter body compared to his husband. Meanwhile, Jonathan himself was tall and sturdy, with more clearly defined muscle lines overall and imposing form.

For most people, Kevin would naturally be considered the more suitable figure to take on the role of a “mother” between the two men. However, for Kevin and Jonathan themselves, it made far more sense for Jonathan to carry their future child. Jonathan’s larger body would be able to bear the additional weight of pregnancy. He was also stronger, which meant he would likely endure the process of childbirth well when the time came. At least, that was what they hoped for.

After becoming pregnant, Jonathan decided to quit his job at Kevin’s request. The decision was not a bad one, considering that Kevin’s income was already more than sufficient to meet the needs of their small family. Jonathan now had plenty of time to take care of himself and his pregnancy while continuing to exercise regularly in order to stay healthy. Despite being pregnant, he remained a husband who could always pamper and protect Kevin.

Kevin, for his part, grew increasingly affectionate, seemingly wanting to spend as much time alone with his beloved husband as possible before the baby arrived and began to claim much of their time together.

That afternoon, Jonathan’s stomach began to feel uncomfortable; painful might have been the more accurate word. He leaned back against the sofa in front of the television, trying to refocus on the movie playing just to pass the time. With one hand gently stroking his rounded pregnant belly, Jonathan occasionally glanced down and smiled. “Trying to come out today, my little one?” he murmured calmly, despite the anxiety churning beneath the surface.

A wave of contractions rolled in, making Jonathan wince as his hand instinctively rubbed the tightening abdomen. “MMMHH … easy there, sweetheart. Let Daddy get ready first and let Papa know,” he said softly, letting out a quiet chuckle. He pushed himself up from the couch and reached for his phone, hoping Kevin was on his lunch break.

The moment the call connected, Jonathan spoke up. “Love, I’m starting to feel contractions.” His voice sounded calm, even as Kevin immediately began to panic on the other end.

“Should I book a rideshare for you? I’ll leave the office as soon as I get permission,” Kevin said quickly. The thought of their first child being born filled him with an overwhelming sense of worry, especially for his husband’s safety.

On the other end of the line, Jonathan only laughed softly, unwilling to make Kevin more anxious than he already was. “Hey, take a breath, okay? Book the ride while I get everything ready for the delivery, alright?” He took a long breath, briefly pulling the phone away from his ear.

“How am I supposed to stay calm? You’re about to give birth.”

“I know, love. I’m about to give birth,” Jonathan replied gently. “We’re doing this together. For our child, yeah? Send my number to the driver so you can focus on getting permission and heading over from the office.”

Kevin bit down on his thumb, his heart pounding hard in his chest. He booked the rideshare to take his husband to the hospital, then forced himself to calm down and focus on securing permission so he could leave work and head straight there before the workday ended.

Once he had finished preparing himself and packed the necessary belongings, Jonathan hurried out of the house and waited for the car Kevin had ordered. When it arrived, the driver helped load the bags and assisted Jonathan into the front passenger seat, making sure he was sitting comfortably.

“Thank you,” Jonathan said politely. “Would you mind driving a bit faster? I’m about to give birth,” he added, still trying to sound composed despite the unease swirling inside him. After fastening his seatbelt, he rubbed the lower part of his belly, closed his eyes, and let out a quiet groan. From the beginning, he had understood that bringing his child into the world would not be easy. But even so, he felt slightly overwhelmed as the contractions grew steadily more intense.

The driver nodded in understanding, agreeing to Jonathan’s request—less out of obligation and more out of genuine empathy for his situation. He pushed the car as fast as he safely could, weaving through the dense city traffic whenever an opening appeared.

It took a frustratingly long time to reach the hospital. Jonathan groaned each time another contraction hit, his hand gripping the seatbelt tightly. “AAAHH— Please hurry, sir. I can’t take it,” he pleaded. The pain in his abdomen was overwhelming. His phone vibrated, his husband’s name flashing on the screen. Jonathan answered immediately, certain that Kevin was already worried sick.

“Where are you right now?” Kevin asked the moment the call connected.

“I’m on the road, love. SSSAAAHH …” A breathy sound escaped Jonathan as his stomach hardened, the baby shifting actively inside him.

Hearing the pain in Jonathan’s voice, Kevin panicked instantly. “Jon! Hang in there, please. I’m scared something might happen to you,” he said, his voice breaking with worry as he imagined his husband struggling through the contractions.

A soft laugh came from the other end of the line. When the contraction eased, Jonathan gently reassured him. “It’s okay, love. I’ll be fine … for our child, right?” He took a deep breath before continuing, “Please take care of the paperwork if you get to the hospital first. We’re each fighting our own battles, sweetheart.”

Kevin nodded, even though Jonathan couldn’t see it. “Of course. Just hang on for the baby, okay? I’ll end the call now. Don’t forget to practice the breathing techniques they taught us.” Hearing Jonathan’s voice helped calm him, at least a little.

Listening to Kevin through the phone, Jonathan focused on taking slow, steady breaths to stay relaxed as the contractions came and went. “OOOOFFHHH … yeah, love. Go ahead and hang up. I’ll let you know if anything happens.”

A faint smile appeared on Kevin’s face as the call ended. The hospital staff had finished handling the administrative matters and were preparing the delivery room while Jonathan was still on his way. Kevin waited anxiously outside the hospital, replaying the taxi’s make, color, and license plate number in his head.

Inside the car, Jonathan let out a louder groan, making the driver visibly nervous—this was the first time he had ever picked up and transported someone who was about to give birth. “UUUMMHH!” One hand rubbed his lower abdomen while the other clenched the seatbelt.

“Sir, please hold on. I don’t know how to help someone give birth,” the middle-aged driver said, his voice tense with concern.

Jonathan turned his gaze toward him and offered a small, reassuring smile. “It’s alright, sir. Just get me to the hospital as quickly and safely as you can.”

Four months earlier,Jonathan and Kevin’s home

Kevin was stretched out on the couch, resting his head on Jonathan’s thigh. One hand lifted the hem of the plain black t-shirt Jonathan was wearing, exposing his husband’s already rounded stomach. He stroked it gently while looking up into Jonathan’s eyes. “Hey,” he murmured softly, a smile playing on his lips.

Jonathan’s fingers combed lazily through Kevin’s hair, his brow lifting slightly. “Hmm? What is it, love?”

Kevin chuckled, then fell quiet for a moment, his smile widening. “You’re getting more handsome since becoming pregnant.”

To Kevin, Jonathan had always been an attractive, desirable man. But the way Jonathan’s body had changed, his belly growing fuller and rounder, made him look even more irresistible in Kevin’s eyes.

“Well, that’s good,” Jonathan replied lightly. “Guess I’m getting more handsome thanks to you, thanks to your seed growing inside me,” he teased, deliberately provoking the younger man resting against him.

Kevin pinched Jonathan’s arm. “Hey! Don’t say things like that. You’ll get me horny, and are you ready to take responsibility for that?” he shot back, earning a laugh from his husband.

Jonathan laughed freely, then smiled as he caught Kevin’s hand. “Of course I am. I’m your husband, aren’t I? And you’re already responsible for getting me pregnant like this.” He tilted his head, holding back another laugh as Kevin’s face turned red. Still not satisfied, Jonathan continued to tease him, “For my husband, what wouldn’t I do? Just imagine me bouncing on your cock while you’re rubbing my belly. You like my pregnant belly, don’t you?”

“Alright, that’s enough,” Kevin protested, flustered. “I can’t handle you teasing me like this.” He pulled Jonathan’s hand closer and pressed a quick kiss to it, his face burning with heat. He silently hoped Jonathan wouldn’t glance downward because there was a very obvious bulge beneath his shorts.

Jonathan burst out laughing. “Can’t handle my teasing, huh?”

Kevin gently traced Jonathan’s palm with his fingers, smiling sweetly. “Jon … do you ever regret carrying my child? You have to deal with back pain, soreness, all of that.”

Jonathan shook his head without hesitation. “Not even a little. I’m actually happy I got to be the one pregnant so you don’t have to go through it.” He let Kevin keep holding his hand, then brushed his husband’s cheek in return. “If we decide to have another child someday, would I be allowed to carry the next one too?”

“Why wouldn’t you be?”

“I don’t know,” Jonathan admitted. “Some couples take turns. Or maybe you’d want to try being the one who’s pregnant.”

Kevin shook his head. “If you want to be pregnant again, then you should be the one. I don’t mind at all. Especially since …” he smiled, squeezing Jonathan’s hand, “you get even more attractive like this. How could I ever say no?”

“Thank you, love. I guess I really do love being pregnant with your baby,” Jonathan said with a soft smile, his thumb brushing over the back of Kevin’s hand.

“Then let’s make sure you’re carrying my babies next time too,” Kevin laughed. “I love you so much.”

“I love you even more,” Jonathan replied warmly. “I really, really love my husband.”

· · ·

Jonathan finally arrived at the hospital and was immediately assisted by the staff, who transferred him onto a gurney and wheeled him toward the delivery room that had already been prepared. A strained groan escaped him as a sharp wave of pain hit his abdomen, his hands gripping the edges of the gurney tightly.

Meanwhile, Kevin was paying the taxi driver who had safely brought his husband to the hospital. “Thank you so much,” Kevin said sincerely. “I hope the rest of your day goes smoothly. Please keep the change, maybe it can go toward something nice for your kid.” He handed over extra cash as a gesture of gratitude.

The driver bowed repeatedly. “No, thank you, sir. I truly wish you and your husband all the best. May your child be healthy and grow up well, and may the delivery go smoothly.”

“Amen. Thank you,” Kevin replied.

After the driver took his leave and returned to work, Kevin hurried toward the delivery room where the birth would take place. His heart pounded, his breathing quick and shallow, as if he were being chased. When he entered the room, he found Jonathan standing bent forward beside the hospital bed, holding tightly to its side.

“Love,” Jonathan murmured softly when he saw him. Sweat glistened on his forehead as another contraction coursed through his body.

Kevin stepped closer and wrapped his arms around Jonathan from behind, circling them around Jonathan’s abdomen, which felt noticeably firmer than usual. “It hurts, doesn’t it?” he whispered. “Just hold my hand. Let me share the pain with you.”

Jonathan shook his head. For him, it felt better to channel the pain into something solid, like the bed in front of him, rather than letting Kevin feel even a fraction of it, even if only in his hand. He was not used to whining, especially after being so certain about taking on the role of carrying their child. A soft groan slipped out as he lifted his head and arched his back when another contraction hit, causing his hips to press back against Kevin’s groin unintentionally.

Trying to steady himself, Kevin could not deny the way Jonathan’s warm, yielding body pressed against him stirred a clear arousal inside him. “Jon … wouldn’t it be better if you lay down?” he asked worriedly. One of his hands gently stroked Jonathan’s abdomen while the other moved soothingly over his chest.

“The doctor said earlier that standing helps things progress for now,” Jonathan replied, earning a nod of understanding.

Just as Kevin leaned in to place a tender kiss on his husband’s neck, the nurse and doctor assigned to the delivery entered the room. “Jonathan, are you feeling the contractions again?” the doctor asked with a calm, friendly smile.

“Yes, doctor. Could you please check how far along things are?” Jonathan tried to smile back. The muscles in his forearms stood out clearly as he tightened his grip on the side of the delivery bed, clenching it even harder.

Kevin smiled politely at the doctor and nurse, then helped Jonathan onto the bed along with the nurse. “I’m scared,” he whispered, one hand brushing Jonathan’s forehead while the other rested on his abdomen.

“You’re the one who’s scared?” Jonathan chuckled softly between labored breaths. “I’m the one giving birth.”

“I’m scared something might happen to you,” Kevin replied, his eyes full of worry as the doctor positioned Jonathan’s legs and performed a cervical examination using two fingers, inserted into the birth canal. He immediately noticed the change in Jonathan’s expression as the discomfort intensified and instinctively tightened his grip on his husband’s hand.

“You’re fully dilated now,” the doctor said reassuringly. “After this, you can start pushing when you feel the next strong urge.”

Jonathan drew in a deep breath and began to push with all his strength. “UUUMMMH—” He could feel the baby moving quickly inside him, descending toward the birthing canal. His eyes flicked toward Kevin. “It hurts… love.”

Kevin’s eyes glistened as he watched his husband in pain. He lowered his head, gently stroking Jonathan’s hand as he fought to bring their child into the world. “I know, I know. Hold on, okay? Our baby is going to be born today.”

Jonathan pushed again, bearing down until the baby’s head pressed hard against the inside of him. He spread his legs wider, knees bent, focusing on his breathing between the contractions. “HHHUNNGH… it hurts…” he groaned.

The doctor and nurses moved quickly, fully aware of Jonathan’s condition. The hospital gown was lifted, exposing his swollen abdomen and his erect cock, which had reacted involuntarily to the intense physical strain. They applied steady pressure to his abdomen to assist the descent.

The baby’s head continued to push forward, slowly stretching him open wider. Jonathan cried out in pain and instinctively clutched Kevin’s hand tightly. “AAARGH— FUUUUHH HAAAHHH… it’s burning so bad, Kev!”

Feeling his hand being crushed, Kevin winced but immediately wrapped an arm around Jonathan’s shoulders, pressing kisses to his forehead and cheek in turns. “You’re doing great. Breathe, okay? Just a little longer and our child will be here.”

He glanced at the doctor, who met his gaze and offered a small, reassuring smile, enough to steady Kevin’s racing thoughts as he tried to remain calm for Jonathan. “Jon, you have to stay strong. The pain won’t last forever. Just fight through this, for me, okay?”

As if fueled by Kevin’s words, Jonathan focused on pushing exactly as instructed. He groaned, his head falling back as an unbearable burning sensation tore through him. Even though he had known the risks and the process, the pain was far beyond what he had imagined.

Blood appeared at the opening, and nearly a third of the baby’s head had emerged. He tried to hold back, not wanting Kevin to suffer too, but every surge of pain made him reflexively grip his husband’s hand. “It hurts… I can’t take it,” he gasped, still pushing despite the agony.

Kevin held his breath every time Jonathan bore down. The pain in his own hand was nothing compared to what Jonathan was enduring. He flinched; not just from the pressure of Jonathan’s grip, but from seeing how red and stretched Jonathan’s birth opening had become to accommodate the baby’s head, wider than he had ever imagined. His eyes stayed fixed on Jonathan, silently praying that everything would be okay.

“Push again, Jonathan. The baby’s head is visible now,” the doctor encouraged.

“You can do this,” Kevin said firmly. “I know you can be the greatest father in the world. I love you.”

“UUUNNGGHH! HAAAANGHHH!”

The baby’s head emerged halfway, and then Jonathan’s amniotic sac ruptured, fluid bursting out and soaking the delivery bed beneath the white sheets.

Kevin’s eyes went wide. It was his first time seeing something like this so directly. Shock, awe, fear, all colliding at once. He held Jonathan’s hands, rubbing them, kissing them over and over. “You’re incredible. You’re so strong.”

Jonathan groaned as the doctor carefully helped him open further. “AAAH— Doctor, it hurts—”

Still, he pushed again, allowing the baby’s head to come fully free. The edges of the opening trembled, slick with amniotic fluid.

“Excellent. The head is out,” the doctor said calmly. “Control your breathing. When you feel the next strong urge, push again so the baby can be born.”

As the doctor spoke, a nurse offered Jonathan water and wiped the sweat from his forehead with a clean towel. The baby’s head rotated, adjusting position for the final passage. The doctor gently guided Jonathan’s hand downward. “This is your baby’s head,” he said softly. “I’m confident your child is healthy.”

Emotion welled in Jonathan’s eyes. He touched the baby’s head, then looked up at Kevin with a trembling smile. “Our child… our child is coming.”

“Yes,” Kevin said, smiling through tears. “I told you. You’re amazing. Just a little more, okay? You’re about to meet our baby.”

Another contraction surged. Jonathan took a deep breath and pushed with everything he had left. The pain tore through him again, forcing a raw groan from his chest. “AAARRGHH, UUUMMNGGHH! It hurts— I can’t— HNNGGHHH!”

The opening stretched once more as the doctor skillfully guided the baby free. With one final push, the baby was born, and their cries filled the room.

“Our baby is here!” Kevin exclaimed, pulling Jonathan into a tight embrace before carefully taking their newborn into his arms.

“Thank you for staying with me,” Jonathan said weakly. “Sorry I squeezed your hand so hard earlier… it was just a reflex.”

“No, don’t apologize,” Kevin replied softly as he passed the baby back to the one who had given birth. “I’m just so happy that our child is finally here.”

Jonathan smiled faintly, cradling the baby against his chest. “Yeah… I’m so happy too. I love you so much. I’ll always love you, more and more.”

“I love you too,” Kevin said with a smile. Then, unable to resist teasing him, he added, “So….”

Jonathan looked at him. “Yeah?”

“Are you still willing to carry another baby someday, if we decide to have a second one?” Kevin asked with a soft laugh.

Unexpectedly, Jonathan’s answer made Kevin’s heart swell. “Yes. I am. I’d go through this pain for you again. Maybe today I felt like I couldn’t handle it, but I did. I brought our child into the world with you.”

A warm smile spread across Kevin’s face. He leaned down and kissed Jonathan’s forehead gently, whispering, “I love you, Jon. Always.”

I loved it! The flashback to the months before the birth was was so good, I really enjoyed the playful way he teased his husband and how intimate those moments felt. And the birth part was incredible, watching him try to maintain his composure for his husband made it even better. Great story!
