That Night (Patreon)

Some things are better said.
After leaving the hospital once his shift ended, Lautaro drove his car through the city streets at night. Life felt unbearably dull. As a doctor, he rarely stepped outside beyond scheduled hours unless an emergency call dragged him back. With his favorite song humming through the speakers, Lautaro nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw someone crossing the avenue recklessly. He leaned on the horn and slammed the brake pedal hard, then swerved sharply so the stranger wouldn’t be struck.
In the span of a few seconds, a life could have vanished just like that.
Thankfully, the man crossing was not hit; not even brushed by the hood of Lautaro’s car. The reckless stranger stood frozen in the middle of the street, shaken as the realization settled in that his life had nearly slipped away.
Fury tangled with fear as Lautaro stepped out of his car and shouted while striding toward the man he had almost run over. “If you’re going to cross, at least look! What if I had hit you?” Only then did Lautaro notice the man was heavily pregnant.
Elías, still dazed, could barely think straight. He had not even realized he had crossed without looking. He was far too exhausted after spending the entire day working at his bakery, even though a dull ache had lingered in his belly since morning. He looked at Lautaro, startled. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I’ll be more careful next time.”
Suddenly, the pain surged again, sharp and insistent, forcing Elías to squeeze his eyes shut as he grabbed his swollen abdomen. “SSSSHH— AAAHH!”
Seeing Elías doubled over in pain, clutching his belly, Lautaro hurried closer. “Are you okay? Hey?” His eyes dropped. He noticed the dampness spreading across the front of Elías’ pants, soaking the fabric between his thighs. He instinctively caught the man’s arm. “Hey, are you okay?”
The heavily pregnant man bent forward, one hand still gripping his abdomen. “AAARGGHH, my stomach hurts.” He lifted his head slightly, eyes meeting Lautaro’s as recognition flickered. “Lautaro?” Shock rippled across his face when he realized who was standing in front of him. For Elías, tonight was filled with surprises—none he had ever wished for.
Under the dim streetlights nearing midnight, Lautaro finally recognized the man whose arm he was still holding. “Elías?” He released him slowly; worry tightening his chest. “What’s wrong? We’re going to the hospital. Now.”
“My belly hurts so bad, Lau,” Elías answered weakly. He tried to steady his breathing, biting down on his lower lip to endure the pain twisting inside him. “I think… I think I’m going into labor,” he added, voice trembling.
Hearing that, Lautaro moved without hesitation. He lifted Elías into his arms and carried him into the car. After fastening the seatbelt securely over Elías’ swollen abdomen, he slid into the driver’s seat and sped toward the private hospital in Buenos Aires where he worked. Every few seconds, he glanced over at Elías, anxiety clawing at him. “Do you feel like pushing? Don’t push yet, Elías. Hold it until we get there.”
“Yes, Lau— MMMHH, it hurts so much, HUHH— HUUHH!” Elías clutched his belly with both hands, rubbing it in slow circles, desperate for the pain to ease even slightly.
As they neared the hospital entrance in the emergency lane, Lautaro called one of his assistants, Dante, instructing him to prepare a private delivery room he could use to help Elías give birth. The moment they arrived, he scooped Elías back into his arms and carried him inside.
“Dante, help him change into a hospital gown,” Lautaro said quickly. “I need to change too.”
“Of course, Doctor,” Dante replied, immediately turning toward Elías. For a fleeting second, he wondered why Lautaro had chosen to use a private suite for this strikingly handsome patient. But that was hardly important right now. “Come, let me help you.”
Meanwhile, Lautaro stepped out to change into sterile clothing. When he returned, he was met with the sight of Elías lying on the hospital bed, Dante standing beside him, monitoring his condition carefully. “Are you starting to feel the urge to push, Elías?”
Elías could only nod weakly, his eyes fixed on Lautaro. “Yes, Lau. I can’t hold it anymore. The cramps are so intense.” His eyes shimmered with unshed tears as he fought through the pain, his legs shifting restlessly with each tightening contraction.
The tall doctor studied him for a moment before turning to Dante. “I’ll take over. You may leave the room.”
“Yes, Doctor.” Dante offered Elías a gentle smile, which the patient managed to return despite the pain.
“Thank you,” Elías murmured softly before Dante stepped out.
Once the door clicked shut, Lautaro locked it from the inside. He moved to sit between Elías’ parted legs on the delivery bed. His hand brushed over Elías’ clitoris as he asked quietly, “Does it feel like the baby is crowning?”
At the sensation, Elías let out a soft moan. “AAAHHH… it feels so tight, Lau. Like something’s pushing and pressing from inside.”
Lautaro nodded, understanding. He carefully lifted each of Elías’ ankles onto the supports of the birthing bed. “It’s time. When you push, do it slowly. We don’t want you to tear.”
“HAAHH—” Elías’ chest and swollen belly rose and fell as he struggled to steady his breathing. He drew in a deep breath before bearing down when another contraction seized him. “EUMMMMHHHH! HMMMHHH, LAUTI!” He felt the baby’s head descending from his womb, pressing lower inside him.
The doctor watched the birthing way between Elías’ legs, flushed and stretched. He could see the faint crown of the baby emerging from the birth opening and let out a soft, breathless chuckle. “There you go… little head.” Lautaro stroked Elías’ thigh gently. “Slowly, Elías. The baby’s almost here.”
The sight of Elías’ beautiful, delicate face pulled Lautaro back to their unexpected reunion months ago. That same face was now twisted in raw pain, a look so intense it defied description. And yet, to Lautaro, Elías had never looked more breathtaking, especially like this, bringing a child into the world.
Elías let his thighs remain open under Lautaro’s touch. “AAAHHH— Yes, Lauti.” He pushed more carefully this time, trying to stay calm, not to rush. “HMMMNGGHHH— HUH… HUHH… my pussy burns so much, Lau!” Tears pooled in his eyes as the stretching below grew sharper.
Lautaro continued caressing his thigh before sliding one hand up to cradle and soothe Elías’ taut belly. “I’m here, Elías. You’re doing so well. It’s time for the baby to come out.”
Feeling Lautaro’s palm against his stomach, Elías nodded faintly. “Okay, Lauti.” He inhaled deeply, closing his eyes while waiting for the next wave. As soon as his abdomen tightened again, he bore down once more. “HEUNNNGGHHHH! It hurts, Lau… it hurts so much!” The pussy swelled further as the baby’s head slowly stretched him open.
“Good job, Elías. Control your breathing so you don’t get lightheaded.” When the baby’s head finally slipped free, Lautaro kept one hand stroking Elías’ rounded belly, while the other moved to provide stimulation to his genitals.
The sensation triggered a powerful contraction. “AAAKHH! HUFF HUUFF, HAAAHH— SSHHH, LAUTI!” Elías pushed again, his head tipping back reflexively, his legs trembling as more of the baby forced its way out. “AH AHH, AAARGGHHH!” Tears streamed down his cheeks, already slick with sweat from the relentless effort.
Thanks to Elías’ effort, the entire head of the baby finally emerged.
“FUUUHHHH— AAAHHH—”
Lautaro smiled, gently cupping the newborn’s head. With his other hand, he stroked Elías’ belly again. “Breathe. Take a breath and rest. Wait until the head turns to the side, then you can push again,” he instructed calmly.
A faint, relieved smile appeared on Elías’ face when he realized the baby’s head was fully out. He reached for Lautaro’s hand resting on his stomach and held it tightly.
“Do you want some water?”
Elías shook his head. The thought of swallowing anything made him slightly nauseous after the effort it had taken to push the head out. “Giving birth hurts more than I imagined,” he said with a soft, breathless laugh, looking at Lautaro.
“It’ll ache afterward too,” Lautaro replied honestly. He then noticed the baby’s head beginning to rotate, and more fluid slipping from Elías’ vagina. “Are the contractions back? If not, tell me. I can stimulate you.”
Elías nodded faintly. Deep down, he felt nervous about facing another wave of pain before the baby was fully born. But he looked at Lautaro in confusion when his abdomen remained strangely calm. “Not yet, Lau. Since the head came out, I haven’t felt another contraction.”
“Is it alright if I stimulate you? It’s not good for the baby to stay compressed like this. If you’re uncomfortable, I can call Dante. He might still be here… to help.”
“It’s okay, Lauti,” Elías answered quickly. “Can you do it? I’d feel embarrassed with anyone else. Anything… as long as our baby can be born.”
He closed his eyes and gave a small shake of his head, suddenly realising what he had just admitted about the child he had been carrying all this time. A flush crept over his face, and he turned his gaze away from Lautaro.
“Elías… is the baby mine?” Lautaro looked at him seriously, his voice low but steady. “The baby. Is it mine? I looked for you after you disappeared that night. If this is my child, I’m ready to take responsibility.”
Tears slipped down Elías’ cheeks again. He nodded slowly, still holding Lautaro’s hand against his stomach. “It’s yours. It’s our baby, Lau. I was afraid you wouldn’t accept the baby… so I decided to raise it on my own.” Relief softened his expression, though regret lingered beneath it. Maybe he should have told Lautaro the truth instead of vanishing when he discovered he was pregnant. He had simply been too afraid of rejection.
Lautaro nodded firmly. “It’s okay. I’m here now.” His hand slid from Elías’ belly up to his chest. “I’m sorry, Elías. I’m going to stimulate you now, alright?” He squeezed Elías’ chest, adjusting his body into a half-seated position so the baby’s head rested against the pad of the bed. His fingers brushed over the tense ring of pain. “Tell me when you need to push again.”
“AAAAHHH, Lautaro—” Elías moaned as his chest was squeezed. The sensation at his genital quickly triggered another wave of contractions. “MMMHH… Lauti, I need to push again.” He gripped Lautaro’s arm tightly as he groaned through the tightening pain. “HMMMNNHHH— it hurts!”
Lautaro kept stimulating Elías’ chest while the birthing hole below, already flushed and swollen after delivering the head, stretched further.
“Stay strong, Elías. The shoulders will be harder,” Lautaro said, his other hand moving to rub the labia as the man fought to give birth to their child.
Overwhelmed by the intensity of the contraction, Elías arched his back instinctively, his belly thrusting forward while his thighs spread wider. “AAAAHHH, LAUTARO!” He dragged in a breath and pushed again. “EUNNNNNGGHHHH— SSSHH—” The vulva bulged outward as the baby’s shoulders pressed from within, forcing their way free. “AAAAKKHH— please, Lauti, it hurts so much—EUNGGGHHHH!”
The baby’s shoulders became stuck, and Lautaro realized it immediately. He stroked Elías’ swollen belly and applied firm pressure. “The shoulders are too broad, Elías,” he said, his fingers still working over the birthing hole. “Are you still strong enough to keep pushing?”
“Too broad?”
Hearing that during his first birth experience was anything but reassuring. Fear flooded Elías; fear of everything that could go wrong. His hand slid down, rubbing his own thigh before carefully touching the baby’s head between his legs. “SSSHH— what do I do, Lau? EUMMMNGGHHHH—” He groaned as another contraction seized him. “HMMHH— it hurts, Lauti… I don’t know if I’m strong enough.”
Seeing him struggle, Lautaro acted quickly. Without drawing attention to it, he made a small incision at the perineum to ease the passage.
“AAARGHHHH—SSSHHH!” Elías cried out in pain. His face flushed deep red, eyes soaked with tears after enduring wave upon wave of unbearable burning in his most intimate place.
“Do you want to squat? It might help the baby come out faster,” Lautaro suggested.
Elías nodded weakly. With Lautaro’s support, he shifted into a squatting position on the hospital bed, looping his arms around the doctor’s neck for balance. He glanced down briefly at the sheets beneath him, soaked with blood and amniotic fluid.
“EUNNNGGHHH— MMMNNHH… I’m sorry, Lauti.”
Lautaro stroked Elías’ hips gently. “Why are you apologising? It’s okay, Elías. Come on, the baby’s almost out.” He began massaging his hips firmly to help widen the outlet.
“I’m sorry I never told you.” His head tipped back, his abdomen tightening hard as Elías pushed with all the strength he had left.
“I’m sorry too. I should have tried harder to find you. Stay strong.”
“OOOOWWHHH— our baby… HEUNNGHHH—HUH—HUH— our baby’s coming, Lau.” Elías was exhausted, overwhelmed beyond measure. “AAAAARGGHHH!”
“One more time. The baby’s coming out, Elías.”
“HNNNNNGGGHHHHH, LAUTAROO!” Elías screamed, gripping both of Lautaro’s shoulders as he pushed with the last of his remaining strength.
At the same time, Lautaro guided the baby carefully, easing the body free. With a final, slick rush, the newborn slid out of Elías’ vagina, followed by a heavy gush of remaining fluid.
“Good job. You did amazing, Elías.” Lautaro smiled as he lifted the baby into his arms, then leaned down to press a soft kiss to Elías’ forehead.
Completely spent, Elías collapsed back onto the hospital bed before gathering his newborn into his embrace. “Thank you, Lauti. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I hadn’t run into you tonight.”
“It’s on me now. You’re both my responsibility.”
Elías gave him a tender look and a sweet, exhausted smile. Even if it had all begun as an “accident,” fate had brought them back together—and Lautaro had accepted the very thing Elías had once been too afraid to reveal.
