Hm guess it is time to watch 'little big soldier' again :)

I kinda felt bad at how little I knew about Chinese tactics. And I don't want to be watching movies for my inspiration... *Shudders* As GoT has easily shown, they are NOT reliable.

Well i would still guess that like most tactics used it depends on what you and what your enemy has, and what the objective is. Also real cultivators should change the tactic beyond recognition anyway.

Strategy stays the same often - that's why Sun Tzu and Clausewitz are still required reading to this day. Tactics on the other hand change depending on army composition, weapons, armor and size. For example, medieval warfare used a TON of castles because most wars were in the tens of thousands. Chinese warfare had armies with 100k+ people. There are no castles because a piddly castle with a few hundred horsemen weren't tactically / strategically useful. Thus, China's castles were the cities. Which meant cities often were besieged for years on end. And so on , so forth. I don't know what I don't know, so the research. I probably won't use like 99.9% of everything I learn, but the 0.1% will help make the book 'feel' real. And yeah, cultivators change things. But how? If I don't have a background to start from, then I can't figure out how they change them.
