Devlog August (Patreon)

This time it’s not a progress update, that one will come over the weekend. Today is just a quick devlog, and I’m leaving it public so everyone can see.

First things first: I finished the main story events I had planned for this update. Yaaay!I wrapped up Eduarda’s and Polina’s dates, and now I’ll be working on Julia’s. I was planning to finish Cintia’s route as well, but I ended up deleting everything I had planned for her next events. Why? Well, Cintia is a “fake” romance route. It was never meant to develop into a real relationship, because her path was going to end in tragedy. I mentioned this in a previous progress update, my writing style always mixes good, bad, funny, and dark moments.

But the reason I scrapped it is because I’m going through a tough time in real life, with health issues affecting loved ones. Because of that, I decided that Cintia’s route will no longer end in tragedy. Still, it won’t turn into a full romance either.

I didn’t change anything in Lukestria Family, since that main story is already written, but in my future games I’ll be taking it easier on the tragic parts. From Steam reviews I’ve seen how heavy tragedy can sometimes break the fun for players who are just looking for an adult fantasy game to go in a adventure. There will still be sad moments, but nothing heartbreak-level like I did in Dungeon Explorers.

So yeah, this was just to let you know that the tragic ending I had planned for Cintia won’t be happening anymore, and that my stories will shift toward being less tragic overall, focusing more on giving you smiles than tears.
