2025 Retrospective and Plans for 2026 (Patreon)

2025
2025 was a year of many achievements for me as a developer. You chose several aspects of how DUEX 2 will be, voted for your favorite girls in PDM, and followed the progress and completion of LUFA.Oh, and I’m throwing acronyms around as if everyone were already familiar. DUEX is Dungeon Explorers, and DUEX 2 is, well, Dungeon Explorers 2. PDM is Prayers of Distorted Minds, and LUFA is Lukestria’s Family.
Beyond that, 2025 was also the year C.M.Cas Games completed its first full year of existence, in April. I explained how version numbering works in my games and shared a bit about my creative process. Then, in July, I took another important step by joining Steam. And very importantly, we chose the name of our little blue dragon mascot: Saphy.
2025 was also the year of walkthroughs. I replayed DUEX and PDA (Peasant Dream Ascension) several times to create proper walkthroughs, added Galleries to the games, and released new updates with additional content and improvements. It was the year I came closest to becoming a “real” game dev, moving beyond a pure hobby and into a more serious level, delivering better quality and more fun especially for you.
We saw brothers join us, and we also saw brothers leave us. Still, it is never a true goodbye, there will always be a place for them in our Brotherhood. This was also the year I made the first (and only) price adjustment, and reorganized this Patreon page in the most professional way possible, clearly presenting its benefits and making them easy to access, highlighted both in the pinned post and in the page description, neatly separated by game.
It was also a year of disappointments and frustrations. My SSD failed and corrupted half of my files, which took a huge amount of work to recover. But the biggest frustration was Lukestria’s Family being banned from Steam for reasons I will never truly know, the message simply said I was using a “school setting,” which makes no sense at all. Still, that is water under the bridge. The important thing is to look forward and take it as a lesson.
We had a long journey in 2025, didn’t we? Haha. Yes… the best one. But one quest is completed, and another appears in our quest log for 2026!
2026
The plans for 2026 remain the same as I’ve been saying over the past few months. Finish PDM, and then focus entirely on DUEX 2. The final update for PDM should arrive in February, and the first v0.1 update for DUEX 2 should come in March.
Does that mean I will stop improving my other games? Of course not. There is a limit to how much I can change games that are already released, but for now things are fine. DUEX still has one more update coming, which I will hold back until I’m sure it’s fully polished, after that, I will officially stop working on DUEX. PDA still has four updates ahead, LUFA as well, and PDM isn’t even finished yet, so it also has guaranteed updates whenever needed.
As many of you know, game development is not my main job, I have a day job. Currently, I make around $450 per month on Patreon, which is nowhere near enough to live off my games. In 2025, I pushed myself constantly during my free time to work on them, but that led to growing anxiety that, by the end of 2025, was clearly getting out of control. So in 2026, I will take care of my anxiety and better organize my time as a game dev.
I will allow myself to work a maximum of four hours per day on my games, and I will not work on them on weekends. Will this reduce the size of updates? Yes. But it will also increase quality, because I won’t be rushing things out of anxiety to release updates as fast as possible. In other words, smaller updates with more care and higher quality, while also improving my quality of life and taking care of my mental health.
I have set a goal for 2026. I told myself that if I reach this goal, I will quit my day job and become a professional game dev, making it my primary work. I know the reason for my slow growth is my game style. $450 in two years, while other devs make that in their first launch month. I’ve studied the market and I know why. I don’t work with popular kinks such as incest, rape, NTR, etc. My games are closer to a Baldur’s Gate or Dragon Age approach in pixel form, there is adult content, but the focus is the story.
In my next games, starting with DUEX 2, I will change this a bit. I will still keep the story, but I will add more adult content and more mechanics focused on sensuality. I’ve always said my games are not porn games with RPG elements, but RPGs with an adult edge. Well, I’m going to invert that. But don’t worry, I won’t abandon my essence. The story will still be my focus; I’ll simply add more adult content and diversify the kinks, while remaining firm on those I do not work with.
For those who don’t remember my personal “banned kinks” list, here it is again:I don’t work with gore, vore, incest, rape, urination, scat, loli, bestiality, or necrophilia.
So, if there’s a specific kink you enjoy that is not on the banned list, leave a comment, either here on Patreon or on our Discord server. I will read them, and if I find them valid, I’ll consider creating a scene around them.
DUEX 2 is meant to be a long-term project. My average time to finish a game is about one year, considering I usually work on more than one at a time. Since in 2026 I will focus on DUEX 2, I believe it may take around two years to reach its conclusion. So, for those wondering whether it will have a single ending or multiple endings, the answer is: I don’t know yet.
Unlike my other games, I don’t have the full story of DUEX 2 completely planned. I have it outlined up to around update 3–4. After that, I’ll evaluate the direction the story is taking and build the continuation step by step. I also want to give more voice to our Brotherhood’s Counselors, allowing them to vote on paths the game can take.
Many plans ahead, and I’m sure it’s going to be incredible. Let’s go! You are my strength—we’re in this together.
Have a nice day!Cas
