I’m going to keep this one short. My brain is spinning out of control! An alien has taken over my mouth, and I’m saying things I can’t believe! Hear me out…

Got home from Mom and Dad’s house last night routinely. Michael and I settled into spending the evening together on FaceTime, which is pretty much every night for weeks now.

We were watching “Mountain Men“ on History Channel together, just chatting and enjoying it. Of course he was in Memphis. I was here. All normal. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Then a commercial came on and the aliens took over my mouth.

I watched him take a sip of iced tea, then I heard myself say, “So, when are you taking me to Dubai?”

He slowly put down his tea and looked at the FaceTime camera. “Maybe we should start with me taking you to Coletta’s here in Memphis first before we fly across the ocean.”

Aliens still in control, I said, “Yeah, that probably would be a first step… Maybe the week between Christmas and New Year…”

Long silence followed as I tried to think of a reason to recant what the alien inside me said. But I couldn’t think of any reason to take it back.

Michael then said, “Okay… let’s talk about it when I get there. Maybe you could stay with Jordan and Hayes so you wouldn’t have to be alone in a strange hotel… or maybe being alone would be better…”“Yeah,” I said. “We can make a plan when you get here.”

Now, if you ask me, “make a plan” is sort of a commitment. Honestly, I don’t even know who I am becoming! Could I really do that?

Well, here’s to following through on commitments!

I’ll probably have a panic attack before the day is out!
