GOOD MORNING
I’ve been up long enough to pass through the bathroom, go to the kitchen, and make coffee. I stood in the kitchen for a few minutes trying to decide what to put on for my good-morning selfie. I decided on a blanket! I guess I’m running a little low on creativity!
Aside from missing Jason, yesterday was pretty nice. And just to be clear, I missed Geoni and Clay, too, but that’s different.
Jason says things with his folks are great. Marsha is definitely spoiling him! And his dad (Dave) isn’t treating him badly either!
Today is moving day for the Bankses. The truck is scheduled to be at their home in Brownsville around 7:00. The company figures it will only take a couple of hours total.
I feel like adding Jasmine to the AGI team—and Micah, too, unofficially—will be great. More ideas… more hands-on projects… And good company is always great, right?
Meanwhile, Sasha and Clay are in the final stages of their own move. A different moving crew will be here early Monday to clear all of the furniture and stuff out of the way so the builders can have easy access to everything for Phase II of the remodel. Then, it’s off to St. Croix for the Everetts!
Also, if weather.com is right, there might be a few minutes of sunshine tomorrow. I think that the rain is gone for today, so that’s a bonus!
I suppose this little morning check-in has run its course, so I’ll wrap up the post. I’ll be back in a few hours with my midday post, so see you then!

WELCOME HOME by Micah Banks
It’s a little surreal to move from the edge of Brownsville to the heart of South Padre Island. And, I’m not trying to put on airs or anything, but it’s a big improvement. Even if it’s a big improvement. Even if it’s a lot smaller, it’s more than enough, and it's literally brand new. You can smell the fresh paint!
So, the moving van pulled away and Ailana Geven came down and said she had lunch for us and to come up.
She had her iPhone on a tripod pointed at the sofa. “I did my selfie for the “good morning” post there.”
“You always have wonderful posts,” Jasmine said.
“Well,” Ailana replied, “having you in some will be great!”
“I dunno,” Jasmine said. “I got a lot to learn if I’m ever gonna model for Sasha.”
Ailana said some things about just relaxing and acting natural, then she put her iPhone in camera mode and said, “Here… sit with me like you did the other day…”
So my girl sat down beside Ailana, then Ailana looked at me. “The remote is there on the floor. Grab it.”
I started to hand it to her, but she shook her head. “You’re the photographer. Tell us what to do!”
“Just tell you what to do?”
“Yes… Then when you see something you like, hit the remote.”
I went along with it as Ailana talked to Jasmine about relaxing and being comfortable. Now, I’m not planning on giving up my toolbox, but I think a few of them came out pretty good! Ailana picked one for this post she insisted I write.
“Now,” she told Jasmine, “my advice is to just relax and pose for Micah a few times each day.”
I said, “I’m okay with that…”
Ailana added, “And we’ll do some things together and take pictures as we go along. By the time we’re supposed to model for SwimFit, you’ll be ready. I’m sure…”
Well, I’ll close out to say Ailana made me feel like she’s known us for a long time and we’d just stopped in for lunch. Honestly, it was pretty nice to be welcomed like that. And I’m so happy for my wife getting this new job with what seems to be great people.
Thanks for reading my post today.
ON MICHIGAN AVENUE by Geoni Naalk-Ryan
I suppose this sort of thing seems terribly indulgent to some people and mundane to others. I am, indeed, on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
If you already know about the Magnificent Mile, you might think I’m being extravagant. But this is a place where tourists from all over the world visit. There are places here welcoming to anyone.
I came today looking for gifts for the gang. Nothing extravagant…
Looking back on all my posts, my story just sort of kicks in when I was doing editing and house-sitting as a career. That was before I decided to join Ailana and Sasha in their travels and volunteer work. That was before I met Josh (which happened in Egypt).
I’ll not go into my whole life story today, but some people have asked—I’ll see about sharing more soon—but I’ll just say that shopping on the Magnificent Mile wasn’t on the radar of 16-year-old me working fast food growing up in Detroit.
For now, I’m heading to the second store to see what I can find.
Hope you have a great day and I also hope that your holiday season is filled with peace and joy. Thanks for letting me share a little bit of your day.
GOOD NIGHT
I’m back to say good night and to wish everyone a great tomorrow. It's still looking like a little sunshine tomorrow, so I’m hoping to get out and about at least for a little while.

Clay and Sasha had Jasmine, Micah, and me over for dinner. There was way too much food, but Clay said he’d rather cook it and have leftovers than to let it go to waste. According to plan, we’re all eating there together for lunch and dinner for tomorrow and Sunday.
Between lunch and dinner, I FaceTimed a little while with Jason to let him know how things are going. Likewise, he told me about how the day went with his parents. If you are wondering, no, I didn’t bring up anything about our relationship. Since he’s away, I feel like it’s not the time to mess with anything.
The plan is for him to return on the 10th. A few more days on the scale of essentially a whole year isn’t much. By then, I’ll have my thoughts turned into words!
That’s it for today. I hope you had a good one, and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
May joy and peace be your companion as you go through this weekend and further into the holiday season.
Good night.
Be your best you!
