SATURDAY ROUTINE by Cindi Curtis

Michael and I were on FaceTime last night before bed and he asked what I wanted to do today. I knew exactly what I wanted.

I said, “I want to do what we always do on Saturdays, but actually be in the same place.”

He picked me up around 7:00 and we started with coffee and a Bible devotional.

We went to Proverbs 3:“In all your ways acknowledge Him”

Whatever we do matters—not just the big decisions, but the tiny choices that fill an ordinary day.

That means my tone in a message, the patience I show when I’d rather rush, the way I treat people who never see the whole story of my anxiety. Every action becomes a chance to point back to God’s goodness.

Today we’re praying that whatever we do—quietly, consistently—reflects God more than it reflects us.

After that, we made breakfast. In the same kitchen.

After that, we played a little World of Warcraft. In the same room.

Then we just sat and talked. We watched the Weather Channel and some news. And talked more.

I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that everything was different being together. It was like the difference between black and white and full color. Or like the difference between being on FaceTime and being in the same room.

It was pretty much the same day, even the part where I sat in a chair doing a few things from work while Michael stretched out—and maybe dozed off—on the sofa.

Then we had lunch. In the same kitchen!

The plan is for me to be here through dinner, then he’ll take me back to ARRIVE Memphis. We’ll do our goodnights the “regular” way on FaceTime.

So, am I glad I’m in Memphis?
