Good Morning

I was in the cottage’s sitting area trying to decide whether I wanted to do a blanket or the beach picture for this post. Izzy said I should do both.

“Hand me the camera… you worry about the blanket.”

It’s hard to resist feeling the sand on your feet when you are in a place like this, so I agreed. I adjusted my blanket and we set off.

It was early, so we stealthed our way from the cottage to the beach. If anyone saw us, I didn’t notice. I took the camera, adjusted its settings and gave it back to Izzy.

“Okay, get situated,” Izzy said. “The light’s going to be good.”

I suppose it’s not uncommon for models to pick up a little bit about photography. Izzy directed me to adjust this way or that as she snapped pictures.

Then she sat down beside me and we looked through them. We commented as she scrolled through and chose the ones I’m sharing here.

We’ll head back to the cottage shortly. For now, we’ll watch the sun and listen to the waves.

It’s New Year’s Eve. For us, it is a lazy day in St. Croix. Sasha and Clay will come over here, bringing a ham they cooked. Josh and Geoni are doing the rest of the food in their cottage.

Micah made cookies for dessert. Intrigued? I am. Jasmine says it’s his granny’s recipe from his mom’s side.

So mostly, it’s going to be a relaxing day—with food and friends! Tough to beat that, right?

I’ll check back at some point to let you know how things are going. See you then!

PUTTING MY FEET UP

Today, being the last day of 2025, could only mean one thing for those of us planning to stay up and usher in the new year… naps and chill-time! I decided I’d hang out in this hammock (see what I did there?) for a while, then possibly take a walk on the beach before a short nap.

We don’t have big plans for the night. Our lifestyle doesn't include a lot of things that are traditionally part of New Year’s Eve celebrations, but we like it. We’re all going to gather at Josh and Geoni’s cottage here at the resort.

In case you are tied up later, let me officially wish you a Happy New Year! May you find a course into those things that will bring you great joy and prosperity.

If you do make it back later, I’ll see you then!

IT WOULD BE COOL by Jasmine Banks

Well, I just got a little surprise. I guess it’s a good one, but I sure wasn’t expecting it.

Micah is taking a nap, and I was sitting out on the patio here at Clay and Sasha’s place. I’ve got some things to share about what all me and Micah think about this. We would have never imagined being anyplace like this. But, I’ll share those with Micah another time.

Clay came out to see if I needed anything, and I said I was fine. Then he sat down.

“Micah and I were talking when we were at the axe-throwing place…” he said. “I told him I wanted to suggest something to you, and he said okay.”

“Suggest something?”

“What would you think about getting back into your nursing program? Get your BSN?”

I wasn’t expecting that. “I don’t know… I’m not doing that now. Would it help me in my job here?”

Clay shrugged. “I don’t know… point is you started something. It would be cool to finish, right?”

“Just finish because I started?”

“Yeah? I mean if you like the nursing stuff… why not?”

“Well, I just started working for you…”

“You could do some online program… do both. It’s not an either or… if you like the nursing stuff, you could do both.”

“Maybe I can save up…”

Clay took a deep breath. He went on to say he donates money to charities and scholarship funds all over the place. He was real sensitive to not talking down to me, but he offered to scholarship me into a program.

“And Micah said maybe you could pay back the scholarships out of part of the modeling money you make…”

“So Micah’s in favor?”

“I asked him to let me bring it up, but yeah…”

I told him I’d talk to Micah about it, but I wasn’t against the idea. “I don’t really see how it helps AGI, though…”

The rest of this chapter is exclusive to Patreon.

“Well,” Clay said, “what if we go back to the Everglades and Ailana gets bit by a shark?”

“Alligator?” I said.

“Something with teeth!” he laughed. “Seriously, though… it doesn’t have to help AGI… It would just be cool to finish something you started. Like… I got my drone license… I’m going to go ahead and take lessons so I can get a private pilots license. Just because, you know?”

I smiled as the idea sort of found a place to sit in my brain. “So… okay, I’ll go look up some online LPN-to-BSN programs… When Micah gets up, I’ll talk to him.”

“Sounds like a plan,” Clay replied.

He stood up and I said, “Wait…”

He turned back and looked, waiting for me to finish.

“Thank you.”

“Oh… of course! You’re very welcome.”

“But…” I added, “I don’t think Ailana’s going to get bit by an alligator.”

“Hey… you never know about these things! For that matter, could be Sasha! Better safe than sorry, right?”

I laughed.

“And… I just think it’s cool that we can finish what we start. Pilot Clay Everett to the cockpit? I’ve got a lot to learn, but why not? It will take a while, but ‘a while’ will pass whether we’re taking classes or not. Might as well take the classes, then after a while, we’ll be done, right?”

“When you say it like that, it makes sense…”

Good Night

I said it earlier, and I’ll say it again. Happy New Year! You might not be seeing this on New Year’s Eve, but whenever it appears on your screen, I’d like to wish you the best for 2026.

We’ve got a long way to go before midnight, but we also have a lot of popcorn at the ready! Iced tea and lemonade are so cold the condensation on the pitchers is running down in big, lazy drops. And there’s a chest of iced-down sodas at the ready!

I have to admit that with snacks like popcorn, the sweet fizz of a Coke seems like the perfect combination. Geoni claims it’s the sweet-salty combo that makes it so satisfying.

By now, you might be weary of everyone’s 2025 recap and 2026 resolutions or predictions. Instead of me going into all of that, I’ll just say one thing.

You being part of my last going-on two years has been amazing. Your encouraging comments and replies mean so much to me. I’m looking forward to a lot more of this in the year to come, and I hope you are looking forward to being part of it.

Our time in St. Croix is coming to an end in a few days. I’ll give you a little preview. Sasha is reporting that the remodel is off schedule — but she has a backup plan!

I’ll talk about that tomorrow.

May you reflect on 2025 — seeing what you had, what you did, and how it helped shape a better version of you — and may you look into the year ahead with clarity about how to stay on course toward your dreams.

Good night.

Be your best you!

Good Morning. Good morning to you. Well done, you two. Delightful set of photos to remember this morning from a terrific trip. Glad you two could have a moment just the two of you. Sounds like you have a nice day ahead of you. Thank you both for the morning post. Enjoy your day.

PUTTING MY FEET UP. Hammocks are great. No big plans are necessary when you already have what you need. And you do. Have a great rest of your day relaxing.

IT WOULD BE COOL by Jasmine Banks. Wow! That is incredibly generous of him. But you are a part of the team now, Jasmine. It is totally understandable. He is trying to help you grow, not just pose for pictures and help Sasha. He didn't have to do that. That was a very nice thing to do. I particularly am impressed he asked Micah first about talking to you about it. He showed respect to Micah. That is what a gentleman does. And I have to wonder if some of that generous instinct hasn't been partly inspired by Ailana. The theme of gratitude runs through the diary and now the journal. Just a thought. I hope it all works out for you. Are Micah's cookies really that good? Thanks for the post and have a great rest of your day.

Good Night. I am seeing this on New Year's Eve. I have no idea where I will be later, so trying to read now. I will tell you what you probably already know. I have thoroughly enjoyed the diary and now the journal since I found it. Entertaining, educational (more travel pieces please), and motivational and inspirational, OK, stopping. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us fans. We look forward to your further stories in the coming year. Again, thank you so much. I bid you goodnight and Happy New Year's Eve!
