TYPICAL TUESDAY BUT NOT by Cindi Curtis

I think I’ve mentioned before that on Tuesdays, there’s this “Tuesday Touch-Base” Teams call the project leader runs. Today, I got called out.

“Cindi,” Stephanie, the project leader, said, “where are you? Your background is different.”

Panic!

I swallowed hard, telling myself this was the kind of panic normal people have, not my special flavor. “Memphis.”

“Why on earth are you in Memphis?”

Blushing hard, I said. “Uh…”

That sounded pretty intelligent, but I thought I should say more. “I’m visiting.”

I didn’t notice who, but one of the guys said, “You’ve been there all month. I noticed.”

“Yeah… I…” Then I just blurted it out. “I’m moving here. I mean, not this condo. This is my boyfriend’s. I’m buying a house in Bartlett.”

A guy from accounting everyone calls Beans said, “Boyfriend? When did that happen?”

Stephanie saved me. “That’s her personal business and we don’t need to record that int our scrum meeting… But, congratulations on the move… Now, let’s get back to the sprint list.”

I have no idea what the rest of the meeting was about. And it hit me later that saying it out loud to my coworkers made everything feel more real.

I kinda like working with Michael in the room, though. It just feels safe and not as lonely.

I know I was never alone spiritually. God was always with me.

Isaiah 41:10: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand"

But I also believe we are meant to live in community. A lot of texts address the reader in plural form. All of you… not you…

I had to get away from that for years. Now, I’m seeing once more what I was missing.

Be your best you!

"Thank You" Message to Paying Supporters:

Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.

Patreon members… You are covering a nice portion of that.

I believe most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. That means so much to me! I am honored and greatly moved.

While most of the content on AGI Stories is free and much of it is public, the hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!

Again, thank you very, very much.

TYPICAL TUESDAY BUT NOT by Cindi Curtis. So happy for you, Cindi. On so many levels, you have grown so much as a person. And in so short a time! I think maybe a force bigger than yourself is inspiring and comforting you than this new path is the right one. I like that you like to work with Michael in the same room. That shared space in which the two of you are connected but working on different things. The unspoken awareness of each other's presence brings a comfort and a confidence that only faith and love can bring. So happy for you, Cindi! Thank you for the update. Glad your Teams meeting went well. 👍.
