GOOD MORNING
Friends, what you are looking at is deception of a sort. Mild, but still…
As you see, I have utterly removed the sheet from the bed. But for the sake of the image, I straightened out the comforter. That means after the post, I have to un-straighten the comforter completely so I can remake the bed.
Now, let’s add some confusion to the deception…
At some point in the past I think I said, “On Friday, the 7th, we’ll fly to Seoul. We’ll spend a few nights there, then move on out to rural areas. We'll get back to Seoul by the 13th, do Valentine’s Day there, then fly back home on the 15th.”
Friday is the 6th. I could pretend that I meant it would be the 7th in Korea when we left, but I just got it wrong.. So if you are looking at your calendar, you’ll notice that today is Thursday.
Where did the time go! I am so not ready.
I’ll check in later—when I have even less time to get ready.
GETTING THERE
It’s not as bad as I made it out to be this morning. I’ve been working on getting ready all week.
Right now, I’m pausing for coffee. After I pause for coffee, I’ll continue my pause for lunch. After lunch, I need to bang out a few edits.
That’s pretty much the plan for the rest of the day. Meanwhile, about 26 hours before wheels up and off to Korea.
I need to let you know that the time zone thing is going to make things… different.
At this time of day, I’ll be asleep in Korea. The time that I do my normal goodnight post will be my Korea midday post. So, I’ll have to do a post around 3:00 p.m. Texas time for my Korea Good Morning posts.
So, my Korea day will look like this…
3 p.m. Texas = Good Morning from Korea7 p.m. Texas = Midday from KoreaThen 6 a.m. the next day will be my Good Night from Korea.
It will be mostly confusing in Instagram. I'm planning on keeping my days intact here on Patreon—as always, this is the best platform for the story continuity!
If you are confused, so am I. I have a chart. It will be fine. We’ve got this, right?
With that, let me get out of this post and get on with the day. See you tonight!
GOOD NEWS, BAD DAY
Last night I got some good news, sort of. But today at school, things were a little sketchy for me.
Two nights ago, my mom crashed out on me for not coming home when she was doing work overnight. “You can’t keep sleeping out places, Emily Taylor. Somebody will report it, and I’ll lose the SNAP money. I need that.”
She went on to say that, after last night, she’d stop doing work late at night for a while and that I wouldn’t have to find places to stay. That’s the good news.
Today at school, though, there were some issues. A girl in chemistry, Maddie, called me out for wearing the same pants.
“Those are the ones you had on yesterday. Remember? I accidentally marked Sharpie on them. Didn’t you change clothes?”
I played it cool and told the truth—leaving out the part about hiding in the public library bathroom. “Of course… I just wore the same pants. Save on wasting water.”
She didn’t say anything else, but I doubt she bought it.
Then in math, a nice boy—Hunter—asked for my calculator. I unzipped my backpack, and he could see my bra, panties, and one last box of macaroni.
“Macaroni and underwear,” he said. “That’s a strange combination.”
I rolled my eyes. “Duh… they don’t go together. I got the mac at work and forgot to unpack it.”
I think he wanted to make another remark but couldn’t think of anything funny to say.
Next thing I knew, I was called into an admin’s office. “Emily, one of your teachers says you’re sleeping in class and sometimes you have unusual things in your backpack. Can I take a look?”
“I got snacks and a change of clothes. Books… I don’t have any contraband.” I thought she was searching for vapes or something, so I showed her.
“Where’s your phone?”
I told the truth. “We can’t afford one for me.”
Then I was getting that call-to-CPS vibe, so I started hoping she was really busy.
“You have enough snacks for days in here…”
Then her radio went off: “Female admin to girls’ bathroom on the 200 hall. Nonemergency.”
I dodged that bullet. And said a prayer of thanks for that radio call.
GOOD NIGHT
Made it to the end of the day. Call it a success. Bags packed. Edits made. Dinner was great.
Jasmine—since she and Micah aren’t going—made dinner for all of us. It was simple and hearty, which is how Micah likes to eat. He grilled chicken outside and Jasmine did potatoes and green beans.
Jason and I opted to skip the beach tonight, but we walked the block. There was a birthday party at The Kraken as we walked by. We made the turn back down Whiting Street just as the stars were becoming vividly visible.
We just paused and looked up. The sound of the surf was gentle in the background as we stood there in the cooling night air.
As we took our first steps onward, Jason said two simple words that carry so much meaning: “Four months.”
We’re counting down.
May you have gentle still moments where things fall into place around you.
Good night.
Be your best you!

It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.

My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.
Again, thank you very, very much.
