The plan for today…
I keep an on-going Google Sheets file used to plan scheduling of posts. It includes times, IG accounts, and Patreon storylines, as well as X accounts (Cindi, Michael, and Ailana have X accounts, though I have been bad about not posting Ailana's this week).
Far-left column is the time where I (creator) lives. It's also conveniently the time zone for South Padre Island, Texas (Ailana's Journal) and Memphis, Tennessee (River City Connections).
The next column is the IG account where they will appear. I had some issues with IG around Thanksgiving, so I did some research to learn that posting more than 4 times daily on the same account can raise flags. Thus, I need to keep up with that.
If Ailana's journal needs more than 4 posts, I post them on an account called AGI_Storylines and collaborate back to Ailana's page.
The next two columns are supposed to be who's in the story and a note as to what they are doing. The keyword is "notes." The purpose is so I get the right images with the right story.
The column "Pic made?" codes for the image filename. The next few columns are check-boxes that I "X" off when done. If they don't apply, they get an "-". For example, "Pirates Landing" only appeared on Patreon and did not have any pictures.
At the very end is a box to show which storyline on Patreon the post goes in.
The coloring of the boxes is done two ways. One is conditional formatting for everything except the light green rows of Ailana's Journal. That colorization comes from a script file I wrote. Whenever the IG account for Ailana is chosen, the script colors the row.
This tool gives me a way to easily look back to see what has happened when and to plan ahead.
Generally, I have scheduled content out a few days in advance.
The downside to scheduling content is if I get an idea that needs to happen before something that is already scheduled. I can usually get it in…
For instance tomorrow (2026-02-05) I added a second post to River City Connections after I had already scheduled it.
Overall, I'm satisfied with how this all works for me. I only wish I had more time to create content for you. I have ideas that get diluted into a paragraph because I just don't have the time to fully develop a chapter.
I hope those of you who asked for a look behind the scenes found this interesting. I shared a screen shot of the schedule once before but really didn't explain it.
Let me close out this post with the default thank you… which—despite being the default—I mean sincerely.
Thank-You Message to Paying Supporters:
It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.
I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.
With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.
My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.
Again, thank you very, very much.
