GOOD MORNING
It’s go time! And by “go,” I mean literally. Today, we go to Korea. Seoul to be exact.
We leave midday today and get there, like, next month. Or last week. I’m not exactly sure how the time zones work when you are at 30,000 feet traveling at 600 mph.
There are so many things wrong with that first paragraph, but I’m not even going to try to fact-check any of it. I do know how timezones work, by the way.
I don’t understand why Daylight Saving Time is still a thing, though. Topic for another day!
Jasmine will be driving us to the airport in the Highlander…
That reminds me… we’ve talked about getting another car for AGI and that Josh and Geoni are going to get a car for their family. That’s still in the works.
No rush, though… I may have mentioned here (or in a comment on Patreon) that adopting in Texas typically takes 6–18 months for foster care adoption. I think Josh can handle getting a car in that time frame!
Was I going somewhere with this post, or am I just rambling? I guess I am, now!
I should get up, get ready to go, and have some coffee. But NOT in that order… You know what I mean…
NOW BOARDING
We are at the airport, and you can probably tell. Everything is going according to schedule. We take off soon, and then there are some logistics that add up to about 20 hours of travel. Yeah… that…
We land late afternoon, Korea time, on February 7 (tomorrow). The plan is to check in to the hotel and call it a day. The adventure begins on the 8th!
I think that’s about it for this post. I’ll check in with another post from aboard the plane later.
See you then!
TEXAS TOGETHER by Vanessa Lenen
I try hard not to be overly giddy about things. Well, that’s not working right now.
January happened so fast, looking back. Meeting David… Wanting to stay in NYC… An interim job as an EMT… Calls from Dr. Kumar and Min… Job in Texas…
Do I go and leave David behind? Can we keep things going long distance? Can we figure out if we are in the middle of something, or if it’s just a passing thing with no future.
We both thought it was something. Then there was that little mpox event that distracted him.
The time came for me to go or tell Amir nix on the job.
Plot twist! While David was doing infectious disease protocols, he got a job offer. Here.
Here. Like, on a L.A or NYC scale, next door.
He’ll be an ER attending in Brownsville, and I’ll be right here in Port Isabel as a researcher managing grants, writing papers, and doing field work.
I’m sure I’ll bore you with all the job details another time.
For now, just imagine how it feels to have had this work out—bringing me back to that failure at trying not to be giddy.
GOOD NIGHT
We have a long way to go! No, seriously.
We will land sometime on Saturday after my normal good morning post. Imagine this same picture, but me—more tired…
My next post will also be a good night post from the hotel in Seoul. After that, we’ll just figure things out as we go.
I don’t know if I have said it or not, but Korea is 15 hours ahead of South Padre Island (CST). I guess most people generally don’t have to deal with time zone changes of that degree very often.
Keeping the journal going will be interesting! I suppose it will be an exercise that shows just how big our world actually is!
For now, I’ll wrap up with my default closing…
May you grow attentive to the world and the people within it—learning what matters, choosing what is good, and acting where you can. May you become more fully yourself, offering help when it is needed, caring for creation, and leaving each place better than you found it.
Good night.
Be your best you!

Thank-You Message to Paying Supporters:
It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.
I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.
With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.
My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.
Again, thank you very, very much.
