GOING DOWNTOWN by Cindi Curtis
I’ve finished one call and have a little while before I need to appear on camera again, so I’m on my way to work at Michael’s today.
But, since I was driving by… Muffins? Yes. Grapefruit? Also yes! I also picked up some lunch meat and cheese.
This should tide him over until Saturday, so we can just hang out tonight.
I checked on my Amazon delivery. It now says Friday (tomorrow) so there’s no reason for me to stay home—and that word still feels new and fresh when I say it!
I’m still counting down the days until March 21! And I hope you’re counting with me. I should tell you that Jordan has informed me that she has a plan for the wedding that will be anxiety-free. I told her I wasn’t going to bet on that! How can I stand in front of even a small gathering—which it will be—without being anxious?
“You worry too much!” Yes, she actually said that, as if I didn’t know. “Trust me… I have a plan.”
You know, if it can be done, I think Jordan can do it! She said she wanted to clear it with my parents first before adding one more thing to my list of—her words—needless concerns.
I look back at when I was feeling jealous of her working for Michael and when she started playing World of Warcraft with us (we still do that a few times each week, though I haven’t brought it up much) and just shake my head. She’s the kind of friend I haven’t had since high school, before my GAD started intruding!
Here’s your devotional thought—God knows what you need and puts it where you can access it!
I needed Jordan, and now look!
LET’S GO by Hayes Markel
I was having lunch today when Roman texted. He wanted to know if he could come by. I thought it was odd since his office was open and most everyone was going in, but of course I said yes.
He made it through Jordan’s salutations and admonishments about being a stranger and that he should come around more often, then she added, “Six inches of ice notwithstanding…”
“Well, I’m here now.” He hugged her—not doing that wasn’t really an option—then he and I stayed in the living room as Jordan went back to the desk in her room.
“I’m glad you came over,” I said. “A little surprised though.”
“I was tired of not being with you. I should have come over Tuesday. And last night, too.”
“Well, how was Denver?” Roman had gone to work on site for a few days and got in on Monday night.
“Nothing is the same without you working with me. It’s just a grind now.”
“Are you looking for a replacement?”
“No. I don’t want to even try.”
The conversation lulled, so I pulled him to my side and kissed his cheek. That seemed to reawaken his voice.
“Let’s go somewhere that’s not here. You work remote. I need to crank out some new functions and client utilities—we can do that anywhere.”
“Go somewhere?”
“Yes. Somewhere with… I don’t know… sandy beaches. Or snowplows… We can leave in the morning. Stay… until we get bored. I’ve got enough work to stay busy all next week.”
I replayed the offer. “Go somewhere. Leave tomorrow. Stay a week…”
“Let’s go?”
At some point Jordan had returned, empty coffee mug in hand. “You heard the man! You work remote! Pack your bag! And if you decide to drive from Colorado to Memphis, I know some great places to stop!”
Roman shook his head. “Thanks, but we’re not doing that!”
Jordan went on to the kitchen. “Text me if you change your mind.”
“This is crazy,” I said.
“Yeah… start packing.”
“Okay… Sand or snow?”
Roman smiled. “You decide.”
Be your best you!

Thank-You Message to Paying Supporters:
It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.
I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.
With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.
My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.
Again, thank you very, very much.
